I could say this is a pocket card I made with the pretty Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper, and it is, but what it started out to be was a Z-Fold Card! If you envision this card sideways, maybe you can see how it would have been a Z-Fold Card. This is one of those “there are no mistakes in stamping” cards! I adhered my larger piece of designer paper onto the inside of the card when I meant to glue it to the front 3″ panel of the card! That left no room for a message inside and just didn’t look right from the inside. So I turned the card on its side and could see a way to make it a pocket card!
The only thing about pocket cards is by the time you put adhesive on the sides of the card to form the pocket, the space to slide in your greeting card is made smaller. You don’t want it to get stuck in the adhesive. I just used my Fast Fuse, but I could have made my strip of adhesive narrower if I had used the Tear & Tape. If you wanted the full space, you could just tie a ribbon around to hold the card together instead of using adhesive. I tied on a piece of the new Watermelon Wonder 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon. For a greeting on the front, I stamped with the Crazy About You Stamp Set and made a little banner, accented with an Enamel Shape. These little things are so fun, kind of like the rhinestones and pearls but flatter, so better for mailing. Sometimes they add just that little something you need on your card.
Here is the inside of the card:
I used the Tin of Cards Stamp Set to stamp the inside card, layered on Cucumber Crush. I find this stamp set so useful because I like the greetings and the font and all the little extra borders and do-dad stamps in the set.
So don’t let your stamping mistakes get you down! Chances are you can still make something out of what you messed up, maybe even better than what you originally planned…..and if not, it’s only paper!
