Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card

Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card

If you want to make a pretty quick and easy Easter card, this Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card is a good one to make! I really like the way this card turned out!

For this card, I stamped the bunny in the Welcome Easter Stamp Set in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped it in Highland Heather randomly on the Whisper White card front for a background and then on another piece of Whisper White that was die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies for the focal point of the card. The card base is Highland Heather to match the ink and the scalloped circle layer under the center bunny.

The ribbon underneath the center bunny is the pretty striped Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon. Although it is a slightly different purple color, it works just fine and the recipient of your card is still going to love it! I popped up the bunny piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals® and the ribbon’s fold sticks out the top and then tail ends hang out the bottom. Easy and cute!

The greeting is from the same Welcome Easter Stamp Set and layered on a piece of Highland Heather. To add a little something on the greeting I also stamped some of the little flowers in the stamp set at the ends.

A few years ago I made a similar card with a different bunny stamp. You can see it HERE. I stamped the bunny in one color randomly in the background and then colored in just one bunny and added a greeting. That card shows how you can use a bunny stamp to make an Easter card or a Baby card! Bunnies are so versatile!

There are lots of cards you can make simply by using only one color as in my monochromatic Easter card with the Welcome Easter bunny. Try one!

Fable Friends Bunny Easter Basket

Fable Friends Bunny Easter Basket

Today is the first day of spring, the earliest first day of spring since 1896, so here is a Fable Friends Easter Basket to celebrate! These are so easy to make you could make a ton now in your “free time”!

This is the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and I liked the Pool Party stripe paper for the basket. And then you can see the floral pattern on the inside of the basket.

The bunny is stamped from the Fable Friends Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog. I love that bunny! I colored his fur and jacket with Stampin’ Blends and then die cut him with a Layering Oval die, then layered on a scalloped oval die. Don’t think I picked the correct color for the scalloped oval to match the inside of the basket but it’s fine!

Just use a 6″ x 6″ square of paper and score at 2″ and 4″. Turn the paper and score again at 2″ and 4″. Then on opposite sides, cut up to the scored horizontal line. Round the four corners if you wish with the Detailed Trio Punch. In the rough (?) diagram below, you can see how you score all the lines like a “tic tac toe”, then cut on the red lines up to that horizontal score line. Then crease and fold on all the lines and begin assembling the basket.

Fold on the score lines and overlap the sides of the basket. You don’t have to be exact on the placement, just try to have both sides pretty much the side. Either adhere with strong glue or use Metallic Brads. Back in the day we were really into brads of all kinds so you probably have some in your stash, but Stampin’ Up! does also carry the Metallic Brads. You can see the sides of my basket in the photo below and I did not put a lot of effort into getting them into some perfect shape!

Fable Friends Easter Basket Back

Last year I made several baskets in one post and you can see those ideas and directions HERE.

I think it just feels better to know that it is spring now! Spring is a happier season, things start growing and blooming, the weather is nicer, we are outdoors more. Look through your designer paper and make a few spring or Easter baskets to brighten up your home. You couldn’t have to put a bunny or anything on the side. You could use cardstock to make the basket and add designer paper on some of the squares. You could just tie on a tag or put a pretty bow on the handle. The handle, by the way, is just a strip of cardstock, probably cut about 1/2″ or 3/4″ wide and however long you would like it. It’s a simple project and would be fun and easy to make if you have kids at home now! Or just make it for yourself! Use larger paper for a larger basket! Maybe I will try that myself! Try your hand at a spring basket like my Fable Friends Bunny Easter Basket!

Welcome Easter Yellow Chick Card

Welcome Easter Yellow Chick Card and Stamp Set

I just ordered the Welcome Easter Stamp Set recently and it is so adorable I had to make this Welcome Easter Yellow Chick Card. It’s actually a great stamp set that is not just for Easter, as you can see from the stamp set photo! It’s even got a greeting in the stamp set for a new baby and a friend. You could certainly make a lot of cute baby cards and projects with this stamp set, so don’t look at it as only for Easter.

In making this card, I wanted to use the new, beautiful vellum paper, available FREE during these last few weeks of Sale-A-Bration! It’s one of the new products available as the 2nd release during Sale-A-Bration. It is called the So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper. It comes in three colors: Pool Party, Purple Posy, and Soft Sea Foam.

I just used a card base of Whisper White and added a layer of the Pool Party vellum, sponging it on the back with Multipurpose Liquid Glue so the adhesive wouldn’t show through.

The chick is stamped in Memento Ink and colored in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers and the beak and feet in Pumpkin Pie markers. It’s so fun to color with these Stampin’ Blends Markers! I just love to do it! I also colored in some green grass just for fun using the Granny Apple Green markers.

The chick was then cut out with the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered on a scalloped circle die-cut in Daffodil Delight. Then I thought it would be fun to use the Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon placed back and forth on the back. I popped this piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is stamped and then layered on a Stitched Rectangle Die in Daffodil Delight. It is just glued on with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or you can use Snail Adhesive.

That’s as easy as it is to make this Welcome Easter Card with the cute yellow chick on the front! Try your hand at making this simple card!

Remember, Sale-A-Bration ends March 31 so what with all the health news out there, don’t forget if you want to treat yourself to a Sale-A-Bration product!

One of the products that I think will be the most popular is the Painted Poppies Stamp Set. I made this easy card with just some basic stamping and coloring by stamping the group of poppies twice and then quickly coloring in the flowers and grass with the Stampin’ Blends markers. I didn’t color “carefully”, I just dabbed some Light Poppy Parade marker on all the flowers and then went back and dabbed on a little bit of Dark Poppy Parade. I used Granny Apple Green Blends on the stems and drew in some grass.

Easy Painted Poppies Birthday Card

The greeting on this card is from the Sending Thoughts Stamp Set, FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration! You will find it under the Sale-A-Bration category in the Online Store and in the SAB brochure. I simply stamped it in Memento Black Ink right on the card front to keep things simple! Sometimes we forget “simple”! The card base is Poppy Parade with a bit of Granny Apple Green Cardstock showing under the stamped image.

Fable Friends Bunny and His Basket

Fable Friends Bunny and His Basket

There’s still a little bit of time for Easter bunnies, so here is the cute Fable Friends Easter Bunny and his basket! I wanted to make a gray bunny for a change and I found a way to make some small Easter eggs with a punch!

The other day I discovered that I could use the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. I just punched out the bulb and trimmed off the little thing on the end. Voila! You have an Easter egg! I just grabbed some scrap cardstock and designer paper to punch out some eggs, even one stamped heart! Instead of laying in the scrap heap, it is now an Easter egg!

The card base is Pear Pizzazz to coordinate with the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper layer. I liked the look of the leaves as if the bunny is out in the forest with his Easter basket!

The bunny is stamped in Memento Ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends markers. Love those! I originally thought I would cut out the bunny, but then I thought he might not show up very well so I left him on the Whisper White paper and added the basket. The basket is just a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. The grass is first stamped with a tiny little grass stamp in the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set. I have actually used this grass stamp a lot! Then I filled in with a Stamping Blends marker. I used Mossy Meadow ink with the stamp and Pear Pizzazz marker. I also sponged a little Balmy Blue ink in the background for some sky. The plain white looked too stark.

The greeting is in the Fable Friends Stamp Set, along with other greetings you can use for other occasions. I used the Tailored Tag Punch to finish off the ends of the greeting. I’m not sure that was the best choice but it’s okay. I used some Gold Faceted Gems for an embellishment. I’m so glad this stamp set is carrying over! It will be great for baby cards also!

Be sure to check the Last-Chance products in the Online Store! That’s the best way to see everything and to see what is still in stock. Click on THIS POST to find the links to the lists and for more information.

If you own the Fable Friends Stamp Set, make a fun bunny card today and give it to someone on Easter!

Chocolate Bunny Easter Joke

Chocolate Bunny Easter Joke

The other day I saw a card online that reminded me of this Chocolate Bunny Easter Joke! I knew I had the Chocolate Bunny Stamp from several(?) years ago and I was able to find it in my huge stash of old retired stamps! Even though it is retired, I couldn’t resist using it for a little Easter funny!

I suppose everyone jokes about which part of a chocolate bunny they bite off first—the rear or the ears! I think I eat the ears first! The important thing is that you HAVE a chocolate bunny to eat at Easter time! I suppose there are less solid chocolate bunnies nowadays than the “empty” ones. Either one is delicious as long as it is chocolate!

You might have noticed that the stamp has the bunny facing one direction, but my Easter card has one bunny facing the opposite direction. So how was this done? It is called “mirror image stamping”. There is a way to do this now with our Stamparatus and I was all ready to use my Stamparatus until I realized…..I had a wood-block stamp! So I went back to the “old-fashioned” technique of doing this.

To do this mirror image stamping, simply ink up the stamp well and stamp the image on a window sheet. Then use the window sheet like a stamp and place it on the paper. I was able to press and rub the image without smearing any ink underneath. The image will be slightly lighter than using the real stamp. On this particular mirror image, I was able to carefully, but not too perfectly, go over some of the lines with the Stampin’ Write Early Espresso Marker, the same color as the ink, just to make it a little darker.

The card is made with a card base of Early Espresso Cardstock with a layer of Pool Party. In order to make it stand out a bit more, I opted to add a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. The bunnies were stamped on Whisper White and cut out.

I had the Make a Difference Stamp Set out to use the letters to spell out the words I used, but I decided instead to just print out the words with the marker. The word bubble stamps are from an old Project Life stamp set. Once I noticed the spray of flowers stamp in the Make a Difference Stamp Set, I used that to stamp, with Versamark Ink, on the Pool Party background.

I have to say, even though I have been purchasing the clear-mount and photopolymer stamps since they came out, with rare exception, having that wood block stamp in my hand as I stamped the chocolate bunnies sure felt good! There is something very satisfying about holding that wood block, even though the other stamps have all their advantages.

I hope you got a laugh out of my Chocolate Bunny Easter card and this old joke that has been around for quite awhile!

Easy Easter Folded Candy Holders

Easy Easter Folded Candy Holders

If you are looking for some easy little Easter candy treats, these Easy Easter Folded Candy Holders might be just what you are looking for! The basic holder is so simple to make and then you can add whatever you want for the front design.

You can modify the measurements any way you like to suit what you are putting inside. Besides a piece of candy, you could put a tea bag or a small cookie or maybe even a gift card. As I said, just change up the dimensions.

My sample starts with a piece of paper 9 3/4″ x 3 1/2″. Mine uses the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper. I used the same piece of paper, just opposite sides for the front of the candy holder. When you use designer paper you get to see the opposite side of the paper on the inside. However, you could also use cardstock for the holder and use designer paper for a layer on the front or embellishment. Score the paper at 3 1/4″ from each end. This divides the paper into thirds. The end section on the right-hand side will have a diagonal cut. This piece will fold over and be adhered at the bottom to form a pocket. This is where you can put a piece of candy or tea bag or something. I used Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Easy Easter Folded Candy Holders Inside

On my candy holders, I stamped images from the Fable Friends Stamp Set. These were each colored with Stampin’ Blends markers (although I almost used Watercolor Pencils for a change!) and then die cut and layered on cardstock.

In order to have the ribbon going around to tie the candy holders closed, I popped up the images on the front of the holder with Stampin’ Dimensionals at the top and bottom. That way I could run ribbon underneath, in between the Dimensionals, and around the back. I put a little bit of Snail Adhesive on the back underneath the ribbon to hold it in place. The ribbon is the Whisper White 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon. (One advantage of white ribbon is that you can dye it another color with reinkers or maybe markers to match something!)

If you want to see the same kind of candy holder made for Christmas one year, click HERE.

You can make these candy holders for any occasion, of course, and make them as simple or fancy as you like. These work particularly well for the square Ghirardelli chocolate candy. I had these Ghirardelli chocolate eggs, which do fit, but they are not flat like the squares. Use whatever you like or modify the measurements on the candy holder to fit your kind of candy or treat. Go have fun making a few of these easy Easter folded candy holders.

Easter Wood Crate Candy Holder With Chick

Easter Wood Crate Candy Holder With Chick

This Easter Wood Crate Candy Holder With Chick would be fun to make as a treat holder just using some dies and glue! Something a little bit different than a bunny! Make the paper crate, add some Easter grass or paper shred and put in some Easter candy! You have a little treat for someone or put it at each place setting on your Easter table for dinner.

To make the crate I used the Wood Crate Framelits Dies and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. Just cut two pieces with the wood crate die. The die scores the paper as it cuts so all you have to do is crease and fold and assemble with some Multipurpose Glue. If you don’t own the Wood Crate Dies just make some other little basket or box by scoring and folding.

The chick is copied from one I made many years ago on THIS little Easter basket. Back then we had a Scalloped Circle Punch, but you can use the scalloped Circle Dies. For the wings, I just cut a scalloped circle into portions. I sponged all the pieces. For the little feathers on top of his head and for his feet, I just found some shapes on some dies that would work or maybe you could use the Blossom Builder Punch. Whatever you have with something resembling the shapes you need! The little beak is just cut by hand. The eyes are punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and just colored with a black marker. The chick is adhered to the wood crate with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You can use whatever color card stock you like or other designer paper. Make the chick with whatever shapes you can punch or die cut. You can also add an Easter greeting on the front. It’s just a cute little treat idea for holding some Easter candy treats or for a little home decoration. Have fun making your own Easter treats to give to some family members, friends or neighbors!

Fable Friends Bunny Garden Impressions Easter Card

Fable Friends Bunny Garden Impressions Easter Card

Once you start using the Fable Friends Stamp Set you can hardly stop using this cute bunny for Easter cards! You can make this Fable Friends Bunny Garden Impressions Easter Card or you can change the greeting and have it be a baby card, birthday card, or other occasions. And what a relaxing way to spend some time coloring in this cute bunny!

I decided to show a little love to my package of the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I placed a strip of 2″ x 5 1/4″ blue floral pattern on the layer of So Saffron Cardstock. This is all layered on a Whisper White card base. The bunny is colored in to match the flowers on the Garden Impressions paper and I just LOVE how the bunny looks – a little like Peter Rabbit I think! While I first thought the blue color was Night of Navy, some of it is, but some is Pacific Point. I chose to use Pacific Point as the scalloped oval color and the color of the bunny’s jacket. The Night of Navy was too dark but the Pacific Point was perfect!

After coloring in the Fable Friends bunny with Stampin’ Blends markers, I die cut the bunny with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. He is then layered on a scalloped oval in the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. You can glue the bunny down flat on the card or pop him up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.® I chose the Easter greeting in the Fable Friends Stamp Set but you could make the same card with another greeting. You could add some ribbon as well, but I was keeping it simple.

Go check out the Fable Friends Stamp Set for making Easter cards and treats! You will find it in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store from the Occasions Catalog!

Make an Easy Paper Easter Basket

Three Easy Paper Easter Baskets

Here is an easy paper Easter Basket anyone can make, so easy in fact that you can make THREE little Easter baskets for treats! At least here are three different ideas for you to show you what you can make!

Just start with a 6″ x 6″ square piece of paper (I used a sheet of Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper) and score like a tic tac toe. Score at 2″ and 4″, then turn and score at 2″ and 4″. Cut up on the two vertical score lines up to the horizontal score line. Do the same on the opposite side. See the diagram below. Cut a handle of about 8 1/2″ x 1/2″.

Easy Paper Easter Basket Scored Diagram

Crease and fold all score lines. If you like, use the Detailed Trio Punch to round all four corners. Or you can leave them as is. Form the paper into a basket and use brads or glue to hold the sides and handle together. The handle goes in between the two side flaps and the center flap. That hides it a little bit on the inside.

Easy Paper Easter Basket Assembled

Decorate however you like. I made a bunny face with a Circle Die and two Oval Dies (or you could use punches) and then used the tip end of Stampin’ Blends markers to draw on the pieces to make a face. Just adhere to the side of the basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Easy Paper Easter Basket With Bunny

If you would like to use cardstock for the basket and decorate with some designer paper, this is how you would do it! I used Melon Mambo Cardstock and Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Everything else is the same as the gingham bunny basket.

Easy Paper Easter Basket with DSP
Easy Paper Easter Basket with Daisy

For this basket, I used the Daisy Punch to punch two layers and adhered the flower to the side of the basket. I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the center.

Easy Paper Easter Basket Stamped

For my last basket, I simply stamped on the cardstock to decorate it! It uses Pool Party Cardstock and the flower is from the Painted Glass Stamp Set. To finish it off, I tied a bow with the Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon.

Now just fill the basket(s) with some Easter grass or paper shred and fill with some delicious Easter candy! These would make cute treats for someone or a cute table favor for Easter dinner.

Have fun making your Easy Paper Easter Baskets!

Watercolored Easter Egg Notecard

Watercolored Easter Egg Notecard

The other day I saw on Facebook a Stampin’ Up! post of a stamping technique that a French Demonstrator, on the Artisan Design Team, had used on a card using the acrylic blocks. I had already been reminded of an Easter card I made of an oval shape and decorated like an Easter egg, so I used her technique to make a Watercolored Easter Egg Notecard.

You can use the largest oval framelit in the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to make this card although it is a little small. If you want a larger card you will need some kind of template. I just used a notecard in the Note Card & Envelopes since the egg will be small anyway. Fold the note card and position the largest oval die over the note card (closed) but having it off the card a bit over the fold. In other words, you do not want to cut a portion of the fold. If you do, you will have two ovals cut out of the Note Card but they won’t be connected by the fold. Just slide the oval off to the left a little bit so you will still have a fold.

You can see how I made an Easter egg-shaped card HERE a few years ago. The die will cut through the two layers of the card and still have a fold as long as you move the die to the left of the fold.

This is how I colored my egg card. I used a larger acrylic block that the egg could fit on. Then I chose several colors of ink pads and picked up ink from each color with my Aqua Painter one at a time and colored it onto the acrylic block. Instead of picking up the block and stamping it on the card, I placed the front of the egg card down onto the acrylic block loaded with stripes of colors of watery ink. Just press and then lift up carefully.

Depending on how much ink and how much water from your Aqua Painter (or brush) that you use and how you lay down the colors, you will get a different look on your card each time you make one. It’s really fun to do a technique where each time the final look will be a surprise! You could also color directly on the card, but Whisper White cardstock doesn’t hold up really well to very much water. I would recommend using Shimmery White Cardstock.

To decorate my Easter card, I used the Easter greeting from the Fable Friends Stamp Set. It is stamped in Highland Heather ink and layered on Highland Heather Cardstock, both die cut from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. For a little bling, I added some self-adhesive Basic Sequins.

As I was getting an envelope for the note card, I decided to color the envelope flap to match. It doesn’t match exactly because I didn’t use an acrylic block, I just colored directly onto the envelope flap. This does make the flap a little “warpy” and the glue on the flap inside gets a little damp so make sure the flap is open. And finally I stamped the bunny from the Fable Friends Stamp Set in Highland Heather on the front of the envelope.

This is a pretty small little Easter egg card but very cute and fun! You can try this technique or you can make one like the one I linked to from three years ago. Of course you can use this ink-on-the-acrylic-block technique to make lots of different kinds of cards, even just stamping the block onto cardstock and leaving a rectangular stamped shape as the Artisan team member did. Get out some ink and an acrylic block and experiment for yourself in making whatever cards you like or one for Easter like my Watercolored Easter Egg Notecard.

SALE-A-BRATION ENDS SUNDAY, MARCH 31! DON’T MISS IT!

Small Easter Basket With Scalloped Tag Punch

Small Easter Basket With Scalloped Tag Punch

If you are looking for a fun and easy little basket, try this Small Easter Basket with the Scalloped Tag Punch. It is really easy to make and you can decorate it however you like. The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch makes cute sides with an opening for the handle, but if you didn’t have this punch, you could just leave the side as is, unpunched. I just love this cute little Easter candy I found! It looks so cute in a little basket! Some chocolate eggs would be nice, too!

It’s very easy to make this little basket! I used Calypso Coral Cardstock with a layer of Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper on the front and back sides. You could use whatever paper you like, or stamp the cardstock, heat emboss, or emboss with the Big Shot and a folder. Anything goes! To make the basket, cut two strips of cardstock 2″ x 7 1/2″ and punch one end on each strip with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Score at 3″ from the scalloped top and fold. Those will be the ends of the basket and you can adhere the bottom pieces together, one on top of the other.

Also cut two pieces of cardstock 2″ x 5 1/2″.  Score 1/2″ at each end. These pieces will be the front and back sides of the basket. If you are going to adhere designer paper or stamp or decorate these two pieces, it’s a good idea to do it before you assemble the basket. The designer paper pieces are cut at 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″. Once you have everything ready, glue all the pieces together to form the basket.

For the handle, cut a strip 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Insert each end through the scalloped tag punch opening and glue to inside of basket. See photo of inside.

Small Easter Basket With Scalloped Tag Punch Handle

Just to decorate the basket a little, I tied around a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Satin Ribbon. You could make a little paper flower or add an Easter greeting or whatever you like!

Go get your “craft supplies” (chocolate candy!) at the store and then make some Easter baskets like this Small Easter Basket With Scalloped Tag Punch.

Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card

Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card

It’s time to start making Easter cards like this Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card. Isn’t that bunny the cutest thing?! This is an easy card to make so you could make multiples and make lots of people happy to receive a card from you during the Easter season. The Fable Friends Stamp Set is great for Easter but you can also use it for other cards, like for a baby.

The card base is Lovely Lipstick with a layer of Whisper White under the designer paper which is from the All My Love Designer Series Paper. Don’t tell anybody, but I stamped the bunny on the middle part of the Whisper White paper, die cut it and then used that piece as the layer. Nobody will ever know that there is an oval hole in the Whisper White layer unless they take the card apart! You can save a little bit of paper this way although I don’t always think of doing that little trick.

The bunny is stamped in Memento Black Ink. This is the ink that works with the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I love to color with these markers! Just pick out whatever colors you like. The bunny is easy to color! This oval piece is layered on a scalloped oval Lovely Lipstick piece.

The ribbon is the Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon . This ribbon has a very nice soft feel to it. I just tied a knot to keep it simple and popped the bunny up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is from the same Fable Friends Stamp Set and layered on a piece of Lovely Lipstick.

That’s it! That’s all there is to this easy Easter card using the Fable Friends stamp set. Easter is a month away so you have time to order this stamp set, add a few things, and reach $50 so you can take advantage of Sale-A-Bration! Get a free product with each $50 you spend. Don’t miss it!

An Easy Candy Basket For Easter With Candy Chicks

Candy Basket For Easter With Candy Chicks

Here is a fun little Easy Candy Basket For Easter With Candy Chicks, one you may have made in the past to fill with candy. Easter is late this year, but it will still sneak up on us! Now is the time to start having fun making Easter cards to send and maybe some little projects for your Easter dinner or home decorations!

This small little basket is made with just a 6″ x 6″ piece of cardstock and pieces of designer paper. Score at 2″ and 4″ on each side so it ends up looking like a tic tac toe board with six sections. Then on each corner, score diagonally. You can do it easily with the Stampin’ Trimmer by lining up the top and bottom corners on the cutting track of the Trimmer. Don’t score all the way down the paper, just in that corner. That center piece will be the bottom of the basket. See photo below.

Candy Basket How to Score

This is what your paper will look like when it is all scored and creased.

Candy Basket Scored Piece

After the scoring is done, be sure to crease on all the score lines and just see how it is going to fold up into a basket when assembled. Note where the bottom is and put an X on the bottom with a pencil just so you know. Then cut and adhere pieces of designer series paper (or stamp on the cardstock) to each area. The squares will be 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″. Note that for the four pieces that will go on the corners must be cut diagonally in half and adhered on each half of that scored corner. You do not need a piece of designer paper for the bottom of the basket, that you have already marked.

Candy Basket with Designer Paper

To assemble the basket just fold up into a container shape, folding those diagonal corners in. The way the basket will stay together is by tieing the four corners together in the center. In order to do that, you will need to punch a hole in each corner. It’s probably best to do this after you adhere the designer paper, but you can do it to the plain cardstock and then just re-punch if needed. You can see the punched holes in the corners in the photo above if you look closely. Run some ribbon around through the holes and then pull and gather the corners to the center and tie the ribbon into a bow.

Candy Basket Top View

Add some shred or make your own by cutting very narrow strips of cardstock and crinkle with your hands or with a paper crimper. Then add your treats, like these chocolate Easter chicks!

Chocolate Candy for Easter

I spotted this candy at Home Goods and thought it would be perfect for Easter projects…..and it tastes good too!

My basket is made with Pineapple Punch Cardstock and Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. If you are using a paper with a certain pattern, make sure you have each piece going the way you want it to go on the finished basket. The ribbon is the Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon. The Easter greeting is stamped from the Fable Friends Stamp Set and die-cut with a die in the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies. If you didn’t have this die set you could just cut a rectangle or an oval for the front of the basket.

Candy Basket Full View

That’s how you make this Easy Candy Basket For Easter With Candy Chicks and anyone can do it, even with a larger piece of cardstock. Make one for a little Easter treat or decoration at your house!
