Hues of Happiness Floral Birthday Card

Hues of Happiness Floral Birthday Card

Here is some more designer paper I had to pull out to play with another time before it officially retires and I turn all my attention to the new stuff! This Hues of Happiness Floral Birthday Card uses the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, which I have loved since the catalog came out last year! Unfortunately, it looks like it is sold out, which is a shame. But I thought about it and wanted to make at least one more card with it, and if I’d had more time in that moment I would have made more cards!

The card base is Flirty Flamingo Cardstock with a narrow layer of Basic White and then a layer of the designer paper, the “other side” of one of the floral sides. I also diecut a Petal Pink piece that has the perforation at the top like a piece of notebook paper to make the base to anchor the flowers.

I used the Blossoming Happiness Dies, on sale for a big discount, to cut out some flowers and leaves from the designer paper. Then I just placed them where I thought they would look good sort of diagonally across the card front. They don’t look diagonal because I added quite a few flowers! The first flower in the bottom right is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and the rest are glued flat on the card. If you arrange the flowers and leaves and then need to take them apart to glue everything down, take a picture with your phone first so you remember where everything goes!

For the greeting, I stamped “happy birthday” on a narrow strip of Basic White to just fit across the flowers. I popped up the greeting with Dimensionals. I could have added a few jewels somewhere on the card, but I had so much going on with the flowers that I didn’t add any other embellishments.
