The Kits Collection are papercrafting kits (cards and crafts) sold in the Online Store. These are different from Paper Pumpkin, which is a monthly subscription to receive a surprise kit in the mail every month. Both are fun!
Sad to say, this Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper is retiring soon! Get some, at a discount, so you can make easy but pretty cards like this Flowering Fields Tulip Thinking of You Card. There are so many coordinating colors with this paper so you have a lot of variety!
I actually put an extra layer on this card, under the designer paper, just because there are so many colors to use. The card base is Mango Melody with a layer of Calypso Coral. Then I used two patterns from the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper. The bottom pattern is cut at 2″ wide so that the top piece can overlap by 1/2″ before adhering to the card. I also added a narrow strip of another pattern of dark green to cover that seam. Then I decided to tie someLinen Thread around twice and tied a separate bow and added that! Then I was able to glue the whole Flowering Fields DSP to the card front!
The greeting is stamped in Mango Melody Ink on Basic White from the Flowering Tulips Stamp Set. It is very closely diecut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies stitched circle and then layered on the next larger Mango Melody die.
On the inside, I added a Basic White layer but added a strip of designer paper to the bottom edge of the white cardstock. That carries the design to the inside plus the Basic White layer provides a place to stamp a greeting or write a personal note. You could do the same just on the Mango Melody card base but it’s a little bright!
Although the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper is retiring on June 30th, the Flowering Tulips Stamp Set and Tulips Dieshave carried over into the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. However, if you want the stamp set and dies, I suggest you order the Flowering Tulips Bundle before the end of June. You will save 10% off the total price if you order the Bundle now because in the Annual Catalog the stamp set and dies are sold separately and you will pay full price for both. A new kit in the Stampin’ Up! Kits Collection will be released tomorrow, April 6th, in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store! Stampin’ Up! introduced the Kit Collection last year and will continue this year with more and more new kits! These kits are designed for the new or beginning crafter, but of course, they can appeal to every crafter! For the beginning crafter, the kits are easy to understand and make and all the supplies are included. For experienced crafters, it’s a project already designed and ready to make and can be changed up if desired.
This new kit is called the Kindness Cards Kit. It’s not in the store yet today but will be tomorrow so check back. This heartfelt kit focuses on touching, thoughtful messages of kindness. This is another card, the Blackberry Beauty Happy Fall Card you could use to send to someone for Thanksgiving! Normally I don’t like cattywampus card designs like this one, with the papers at an angle, but somehow I liked it on this card! I never make cards like this! But the colors with the gold foil look rich and elegant and perfect for fall and Thanksgiving.
The card base is Cinnamon Cider, one of the In Colors for 2020-22. The designer paper is the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper. I didn’t use one of the papers with gold foil, I used a “plainer” one with a foliage/floral design.
Next, I turned to the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack for other design elements. I loved this pack (and so did a lot of other people because it has been hard to get and is back-ordered as I write this! Usually packs like this are all gold foil pieces but this one of laser cut pieces are paper with color and gold foil accents. I loved the flower (looks like Queen Anne’s Lace) but I wanted it to stand out more. I cut out a piece of Cinnamon Cider that would fit behind the frame you see. To make it more interesting, I embossed it with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder. It just gives it a little something extra.
The frame and the piece the greeting is stamped on are also in the Ephemera Pack. After playing around with all the pieces for a while, I settled on this “askew” design! As I said, I usually don’t care for that look but that is what pleased me in making this card! I stamped the little label piece using Cinnamon Cider ink and just used part of the greeting in the Banner Year Stamp Set. The frame is popped up with some foam strips, like Dimensionals. The flower is also popped up inside the frame.
While I can’t believe we are already into November, my Halloween decorations are put away and my Thanksgiving ones are out! If you want to mail cards or make little treats for Thanksgiving, now is the time to do it before we are full-blast into Christmas! Enjoy this fall season! Remember to change your clocks tonight/tomorrow back to Standard Time!
After I got my September Paper Pumpkin Kit, I made all the cute little pumpkin treat boxes, but today I made the wheelbarrow! Isn’t it cute?! Stampin’ Up! has continued to up their game with the Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kits! Not only do the kits get cuter and cuter, but they often have found special ways to use the box…like cutting it up to make this wheelbarrow!! AND the pattern was already printed inside the box so I only had to cut out the pieces and follow the directions and a video on how to put it together!
This Haunts & Harvest Paper Pumpkin Kit was really a fun one. It was designed to make a dozen treat boxes like you see in my wheelbarrow. However, as I always say, you can do whatever you want with the contents of the kit, and every month other stampers come up with the most creative ideas for alternate projects. Someone made Sesame Street characters out of these pumpkin treat boxes! And some people cut up at least some of the pumpkin boxes, separated all the rounded panels that make one pumpkin, and then adhered a few together on a card to make a flat, large pumpkin. Alternative ideas on the Paper Pumpkin instructions even showed how to make a turkey and a Frankenstein! So in any month almost, if you have no need for treat boxes, you can likely change things up and make cards out of them. If you have a card kit but don’t like the design or don’t need more cards, just check out some alternative ideas or come up with something on your own. Maybe you can make treat boxes out of the card supplies! Or some other fun project! The only limit is your imagination!

Some of the Paper Pumpkin Kit boxes have had the suggestion to reuse to hold your special treasures or to fill with some treats and goodies and give or send to someone who could use a surprise gift to let them know someone was thinking of them.
I have to say my favorite way to re-use a box was to make a haunted house two years ago! Now for this, you actually needed two kits and I think a customer made up the pattern that we all copied. It was definitely easier to make this wheelbarrow with the pieces already outlined and numbered inside the box!
So cute! Especially for a Halloween-lover like me! Oh, did you notice the Stampin’ Up! logo on the side of my wheelbarrow?! As I was cutting out pieces, I happened to see the Stampin’ Up! logo that was on the box somewhere that I was cutting up. Luckily I didn’t cut into the logo so I thought I should adhere it to the side of my wheelbarrow!
