Happy March!! I almost forgot I had ordered this stamp set and dies so it was a nice surprise when I found it on my table buried under some other cards! This Memorable Blooms You Are Awesome Card is what came from finding this very nice bundle!
The card base is Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I thought I would use a light spring color to go with the flowers and since spring seems to be trying to poke its head out in some places. I used one of the foliage stamps in the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set to stamp the card front for a background with Soft Sea Foam ink. I also could have used Versamark ink.
First, I stamped the sprig of flowers in the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set. They are colored in with various Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. The big flowers are colored with the Pretty in Pink Combo. The little flowers are colored with Balmy Blue. The leaves are colored with the Soft Sea Foam Combo, plus a little Light Old Olive. I just tried to play around to make the leaves a little multi-colored. It’s pretty subtle. There is a die to cut out this whole bouquet.
Next, I played around with the Memorable Blooms Dies. There is a hexagon shape in there which is actually two pieces. The Basic White center piece is the piece that gets cut out. You can use it by itself, but on this card I wanted another layer under the white piece or around it. When you use this die you get that border design, as you see on the Pretty in PInk piece, but it is still part of the whole piece of cardstock. To get it to be a border around my center white piece, I put each of the six sides in the Paper Trimmer and cut off the excess of the “negative” piece. You will have to try it to understand what I am talking about with these dies! I will say I was pleased with how it turned out and although just the white hexagon would have been find, I like the extra border of the pink.
Before I adhered the hexagon diecut shapes to the card, I wanted to add some ribbon underneath. I used the new White 1/4″ Ribbon coming March 4th in the Online Exclusives. I just made a little loop on one end and let the tail extend out the opposite side. The two hexagon pieces are glued flat on the card and the flower diecut is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added a few Pretty in Pink Party Dots around the flowers. These are great because they are nearly flat but still look very nice.
The greeting is stamped in Memento ink from the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set. I was having a problem deciding where to place it on the card, and finally decided to cut out around the words to make it a little smaller. Eventually I liked it in the lower left corner and it is also popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
If you want to save 10%, purchase the Memorable Blooms Bundle, in the Spring Mini Catalog on page 50. Or you can purchase just the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set which is pretty enough in itself, but the dies are very nice to have also.
