Every week Stampin’ Up! comes out with new downloads for My Digital Studio.  And this week is no different!  But if you are not familiar with My Digital Studio, I thought I would post this Stampin’ Up! video with Holly Linford describing the kinds of projects you can make with this digital papercrafting program. New My Digital Studio Downloads for the Christmas Holidays

New downloads for My Digital Studio are out today! These are great ones for the Christmas holidays but I’m sure some can be used for other things as well!  The Grilling Good Time Ensemble is good for more backyard barbecues before summer ends. The Do Your Best Printables are good for back-to-school lunch box notes and even your regular scrapbooking and cardmaking! And for the holidays, we have downloads of the Season of Style products that match the traditional products in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  These are really pretty and you will want to have whether traditional or digital!

Don’t forget, My Digital Studio software is now available for ONLY $19.95 whether you purchase the downloadable version (recommended) or the actual disc. It WAS $80 up until awhile ago and I can tell you it comes with a boatload of digital artwork plus the software.  You will have plenty to play with while you learn to use the program and then you can start adding extra downloads that you like as soon as you are ready. It’s an easy, intuitive program to use so you don’t have to be afraid to venture into something new.

I would recommend just investing in the software right off the bat for that price (I’m sure you can learn it and I’m sure you will like it!) BUT if you prefer you can do the MDS 30-Day Free Trial. You will have full use of the software and a small selection of artwork to use.  You can purchase downloads you like and print any of your projects.

I’ve said before I always get flustered doing Make & Takes at the Stampin’ Up! Convention and usually end up just bringing the packets home and doing them at my leisure at my kitchen table. This year they did still have Make & Takes but you had to fit them into your own schedule and there were too many things to choose from.  But there were two mini classes, each with a very quick and easy project.

The first one I went to was called the Thankful Sack.  These are all new products coming in the Holiday Catalog August 1st.  We just stamped a maple leaf on a small muslin bag and added the word “Thankful”. We did the “rock and roll” technique with the leaf stamp, where you ink up the stamp in a light color and then roll just the edges of the stamp in a darker color to get a two-tone look.  My first one didn’t come out too well, but just like paper, a small muslin bag also has two sides and it doesn’t hurt to have a leaf on each side, does it??  The cutest part, I think, was tying the piece of Crushed Curry Chevron ribbon around the tie that already comes on the bag!

The second project was a My Digital Studio card.  The card was already made in MDS and printed. At first I didn’t know what we were going to be able to do with this card except put a rhinestone on it. But what we did was punch out the greeting with the Hexagon Punch. Since it was then the exact same size as the hole, we trimmed the edges just a bit with Paper Snips and fit it back into the hole but adhered it to the inside of the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Then we added a Rhinestone Jewel as a finishing touch!

Here you can see the card close-up and hopefully see how we did the punch.  This makes an MDS card into a “hybrid” which is part digital and part traditional.

Was yesterday an exciting day or what with the release of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog?!  And unusual in that we could still order retiring products and from the Spring Catalog even with the new catalog being out!  I’m sorry to say the Spring Catalog is now over with, but you can finish up any ordering over the weekend and through Monday of any retiring products and stamp sets, while supplies last. This is the day we’ve all been looking forward to!  Stampin’ Up! will be transitioning the website over to the new catalog until noon MT today You can also order any retiring items, as well as from the Spring Catalog, while supplies last!  People are calling it the “trifecta of ordering” because you can order from all three catalogs at once…the old, the new, and the Spring Catalog!  Have patience because there will be a LOT of people ordering and sometimes there are glitches when everything is new!

You can even download the free 30-day trial of My Digital Studio, make your card, print it on your own computer or at a store, and have it in hand in minutes.  Better yet, purchase the full MDS version for only $19.95 and take advantage of ALL the content that comes with it!  I can't begin to tell you what a bargain that is!! Digital papercrafting is so big right now!

Even better, if your kids and husband don't know what to get you for Mother's Day, give them THIS LINK and let them order you the download for My Digital Studio. This MDS Mother's Day card was made starting with a card template, already designed. It was a thank you card, so I deleted the words and found a Mother's Day greeting instead! Because I preferred the flower on the other side of the card, I moved it over. And since I preferred it to be another color, I used the coloring tool (so fun!) and colored the flowers Melon Mambo and the leaves Gumball Green.  That's all it took! I could have made it even simpler by only changing the "Thank You" to something for Mother's Day and left everything else as is.  And if I wanted to I could have started with a blank screen and created my own card because I actually had a page torn out of a magazine I planned to recreate….then I looked at the designer templates first…and here's the result!

Whatever you decide to do……my boys made it home for the weekend so I plan on lots of hugging on them and catching up on their busy lives…. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
