Ten Years of Growth Paper Pumpkin Cards

When my Paper Pumpkin Kit finally shows up in my mailbox each month, usually the weekend is a good time to sit down and make the project in the kit! These are the three card designs to make with the kit and from there, you can make whatever you want with the supplies!

I usually like to make the project as designed first, and then decide if I want to continue or make some alternates. There are always alternative ideas for each Paper Pumpkin Kit on the internet and even on the directions Stampn’ Up! sends in the box!

This kit was to celebrate ten years of Paper Pumpkin! I think I attended the Convention when the first kit was introduced, or at least I remember I got a free kit at the Convention! I always say it’s a present you give yourself to get a papercrafting kit right in the mail with everything you need inside, but it really does seem like a gift! You open the cute box and inside you’ll find the package of supplies all wrapped up in colored tissue paper, just like a gift! So it IS a gift you give yourself!! And you can gift someone else, too!

The cards in this kit have a pretty design already printed on the front, and then there are diecut pieces of foliage and ferns and pots to add to the card front. There are pieces on which to stamp a greeting and add that to the card. I put the greetings on two cards but I may use another greeting from another stamp set on some of the other cards. So the kits are always easy to make for anyone.

This celebratory kit even came with an extra FREE stamp set to use any time! Paper Pumpkin often has little surprises for us!

Here is a video to see how this kit went together. There is always a video you can watch plus the directions that come in the kit. Some months there are extra full kits or “refills” that are available in the Online Store IF you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber. If you decided you loved a particular kit and wanted another one, or, for example, at Christmas time maybe you want two kits to make a lot of gift tags or cards. If you subscribe now to receive the April Kit but wish you had the March kit after you subscribe you can shop in the Online Store under Paper Pumpkin -Past Kits, Refills & More and presently, purchase the “Refill” for the March Kit. Paper Pumpkin Feb 2023 Kit Cards

My February Paper Pumpkin, the Sunshine & Smiles Kit, came the other day and I worked on it last night! It coordinates with the Rain Or Shine Suite in the Spring Mini Catalog. Same kind of cute characters and bright colors! The great thing about the Paper Pumpkin Kits is that you get everything you need to make the project and all the directions so you don’t have to come up with the ideas yourself! And this is a kit that makes some really cute cards!

These cards have a peek-through card front, so what you see in the center of the card is actually the inside of the card. If you wanted to write a personal message you would probably write it on the back of the card or simply sign your name and a couple of words on the inside margins of the card. In this photo below you can get a feel for the 3D nature of the design with some elements popped up on dimensionals.

The photo above shows the three different designs that can be made with this kit. I usually like to make the cards as designed and then save some for making alternate ideas.

The photo below is an alternate idea suggested in the directions. I didn’t find the instructions until later on the Paper Pumpkin blog but I copied it pretty well from the photo on the instructions. For this alternate, I provided my own Basic White card base and cut the kit card apart so I could use the gingham for the background on the front of the card and then cut down the inside rainbow of the card to fit on the front. I added some grass from the kit, the two characters, an umbrella, clouds, and a greeting. And of course, the fun part, adding some enamel dots on all the cards for a little bling or raindrop bling!

Of course, you can’t get this kit in the subscription anymore, but if you become a subscriber, while supplies last, you could get the “Refill” for the Kit. You would get all the pieces to make the cards, just not the stamp set and ink spot. So you could make the cards as designed or use your own ideas and use stamps you already own for any greetings you want.

Every month you get this cute box with all the supplies you need, including adhesive, to make the project for that month. Mostly the kits are cards, but they can be little treat boxes or a home decor item, a small album, gift card holders, special projects for holidays….almost anything! Make Christmas Tags With Paper Pumpkin!

I don’t know what went wrong, but the post office seemed to deliver my November Paper Pumpkin Kit in a normal amount of time! Usually, it seems to sit in one place for a few days or it goes on a little trip to some other city first! But this time, I got it right away! And since Saturday was a very rainy, cold, chilly, dreary day, it was the perfect day to stay inside and work on my November Paper Pumpkin Kit, “From the North Pole”. In this kit were supplies to make three different kinds of Christmas gift tags, four of each design. I always like to start a Paper Pumpkin Kit by making what is designed so I made the three Christmas gift tags in the photo above!

This kit was extra-special because it had Mint Macaron glimmer paper! We’ve never known that to exist before! But there it was, in the Paper Pumpkin kit, sparkling away! It is very pretty.

These three tag designs were all very easy to make. Of course, visual directions are included plus a video you can watch on YouTube. I like to watch the video and see how they suggest making the project.

After I made the tags as designed, I made two things on my own, just to play. You can use the supplies any way you like! They are yours, so if you don’t need tags, just make cards. Or make the tags, but adhere them to cards. Of decorate a notebook and put the tag on the front of the notebook. Whatever you like.

I made these two alternative ideas, as they say:

I really liked how the Mint Macaron card turned out, even though it wasn’t looking too great in the beginning. I stamped the “Joy” in Cherry Cobbler and in Mint Macaron on one of the tags and added the greeting plus snowflakes and ribbon. The background of the card is stamped with the largest stamp in the set, the big round stamp with a reindeer That really made the card come alive.

The other little tag I made was almost the same, but I’d used the big snowflake on that card so I was short one. Instead, I used some Mint Macaron glimmer paper dots from the holes in the banner for one of the other tags to be an embellishment. I ran out of those so I just punched my own with a retired punch.

But in the end, I decided I really did like making those Christmas tags with my Paper Pumpkin Kit so I went back and made the rest. Of course, I was missing a few pieces since I’d made the two extra projects, but I just worked around it.

That’s the fun of Paper Pumpkin Kits that come in the mail each month! It’s so fun opening up the box to see what supplies are inside and think about what you can make with them. Paper Pumpkin projects just keep getting better and better over time!

Paper Pumpkin Cards October 2022

It seems like Saturday afternoons are good times to work on a Paper Pumpkin Kit! These Christmas cards were made with the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit! Very cute! I only made two of each of the designs and then I like to go back and see if I want to make some alternative ideas with the supplies in the kit.

Of course, it is past time to join Paper Pumpkin and have this kit mailed to you, but most of the time, it is possible for you to be a subscriber and then go back in the Online Store and purchase a Past Kit or Refill. The Refill has all the supplies you need except for the stamp set and ink spot, because if you already got the full kit you would have those already and would only need the consumables. Sometimes if the Past Kit isn’t available, the Refill will do and you can use your own stamp sets and ink pad with the kit contents.

The best way not to ever miss out on these super cute kits is to Join Paper Pumpkin and a kit will automatically come in your mailbox about mid-month (unless you live at my house, then it seems that the post office likes to send it to farther away cities first!)
