Last Chance Sale Begins March 23!

Last Chance note

Hot off the press!! Stampin’ Up! says it is time to remind our customers that the Last-Chance Products Sale begins tomorrow, March 23, 2022 and runs through the end of the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog on May 2, 2022. You can grab your favorite annual catalog items at a deep discount. This offer is valid while supplies last only. Details will be available tomorrow so stay tuned! Wait until tomorrow to shop!

One of the main things for you to think about, if the past is any indication, is the retiring In Colors 2020-2022. These colors will be retiring and anything containing those colors will retire, such as ribbon, markers, gems, embellishments, and of course ink pads, paper, and reinkers. You might even want to beat the rush, even though I said to wait until tomorrow to shop, to make sure you get what you want/need with these In Colors which often go fast. Maybe they won’t this year, but I see the ink pads are already Low Inventory.

Check back here tomorrow and we’ll see what all the details are on the Last Chance Sale! Get your catalog and Wish List!

Celebrate Sunflowers Thank You Card

Celebrate Sunflowers Thanks You Card

The Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and Sunflower Dies are available this month, until March 31, as a Bundle with an extra discount during the Savings Are in Bloom promotion! You can also get the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine at a 20% savings, but you can buy select Bundles even if you don’t get the machine.

This card came about because I wanted to make a card with the sunflowers set and dies. As I was looking through my designer paper the other day I came across this blue print designer paper in the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. I thought maybe it would look good with the yellow sunflower. However, when I went to make the card, I thought maybe the print was not a good background for the sunflower. I simply turned the paper over to the wood design and that was fine. However, you never know when you are designing a card! As I went to put adhesive on the blue print side, I decided I really wanted to use it, so I did! Is it too much or just something different?! I don’t know! But I think I like it for now!

The card base is Misty Moonlight, a color I wanted to use before it retires soon. Yellow and blue always look good together. The sunflower is stamped in Memento Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends. I started with Light and Dark Daffodil Delight markers and added a bit of Mango Melody. The center is Light and Dark Soft Suede with some black dots that darken it up. The leaves were colored with Granny Apple Green, Light and Dark, but also added some Light Old Olive for a little darker green.

The sunflower is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the two leaves are adhered flat on the card, stuck under the sunflower a bit. The greeting in the Celebrating Sunflowers Stamp Set is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White and die cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I was going to use the next larger rectangle for a Misty Moonlight layer but I wanted something narrower so I just cut a rectangle myself from the cardstock.

Be sure to check out the Bundles that are available this month during this promotion!

Save 20% on the Stampin’ Mini Cut & Emboss Machine in March!

Savings in Bloom Mini Crafting Companion Ad 2

Why are smaller things so cute?! I don’t know but it applies to the Stampin’ Mini Cut & Emboss Machine! Ever since the original Big Shot Machine came out at a Stampin’ Up! Convention I attended YEARS ago I’ve done lots of die-cutting and embossing and think it’s a great addition to our stamping and papercrafting. Then, not too long ago, we got the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This machine works even better, in my opinion, and has the advantage of the platform folding up on both sides if you want to tidy up a bit or carry it somewhere. But if you like the convenience of a smaller machine, taking up less space, easy to travel with, then the Stampin’ Mini Cut & Emboss Machine is for you! Especially when you can save some money! It retails for $60 but with 20% off you can buy it for only $48!

This mini—but mighty—machine is durable, portable, and easy to use. It’s the perfect pick for budding beginners who want to branch out, papercrafting pros who want to craft on the go, or those who are short on storage space! With this trusty tool, any crafter can make precise cuts and embossed designs for their projects with one pass.

During the month of March, you can snag the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine at a 20% discount! This miniature machine is compatible with a large selection of Stampin’ Up! embossing folders and dies. Build your craft collection and combine the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with any (or all!) of the select stamp-and-die bundles that are also available for 20% off during the month of March!

Click on the photo below and then you will see the SALE PRICE!

Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card

Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card

Our weather here has turned into spring, at least by afternoon, so I thought this Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card was appropriate for this week! When you think of spring you often think of daffodils, tulips, and other spring weather flowers. On this card, I only used the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper, even cutting out the flowers from the paper. This paper will only be available during Sale-A-Bration, which, unfortunately, is going to end on February 28.

The card base is a color I have barely used – Evening Evergreen cardstock. I added a layer of Basic White so the designer paper would show up a little better. I already had these strips cut as scraps and I wanted to use this background of strips of designer paper for the background card design. All I had to do was trim them to 3 3/4″ inches long. They were already 1 1/2″ wide. To get more patterns than three on this card I would have to make the strips narrower. I didn’t really do any math, just placed the strips on the Basic White so they were spaced evenly. I think the middle strip breaks up the strong flower designs of the other papers.

The center piece is one of the die cuts from the Scalloped Contours Dies in Evening Evergreen. Separately, I cut just a Basic White rectangle with the Paper Trimmer to fit inside the die-cut. Then I cut out by hand some of the daffodils in the designer paper and some stems and leaves to arrange on that Basic White center. First I stamped the greeting in the Special Moments Stamp Set. This is a stamp set you can earn with a $100 Sale-A-Bration purchase. It is great as it has so many good sentiments in it. This tiny sentiment fit perfectly in the small space I had for it.

The daffodils are just placed in a pleasing way with a few stems and leaves. Two of the flowers are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The other one and the stems and leaves are glued down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Before I adhered the center piece, I thought it would also make a pretty tag on its own!

This Daffodil Afternoon paper is very pretty and easy to work with to make lots of cards, scrapbook pages, or other projects! Be sure you get some if you like it before it is gone in less than two weeks! Wow!

However, if you click on “Sales and Specials” and then the “Last Chance Products” you will see just the Last Chance products. It is easier to see than looking at these teeny lists!

Ask me if you have any questions! I haven’t fully studied the list yet (Or at all!) with Thanksgiving and one child home so I have to get up to speed too! Some items are discounted. Save Tax During Sales Tax Holiday!

SU Sales Tax Holiday 2021
Click on Chart to Read!

It’s that time of year again when some states have Sales Tax Holidays on school supplies in time for Back to School! Once your kids are grown and out of school, you won’t know when school starts or ends or what is happening! And certainly this past year, I didn’t know if kids here in Houston were IN school or doing virtual school or half and half or what was going on. But at least we can ALL benefit a little bit, even with our stamping supplies, if they are listed on the chart above because they really can be classified as school supplies! And you know that is true if your kids have come to you with a school project and asked if they could use your markers or glue or something else!

Eleven states will be offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July or August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates, click here.

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

Note: Georgia, Louisiana, and Wisconsin have suspended the sales tax holiday for this year.

Look over the list of products that qualify and if you were going to order anyway, this will save you a few pennies, depending on your sales tax rate! Remember, the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog (Holiday Mini) and Sale-A-Bration both begin August 3, if that helps your planning!

Be sure to read at the top of the chart about the exemptions and details for your state and what the dates are.

Stampin’ Up! Joins Back to School Bash For the James Storehouse Organization

The other day Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up!, did a Facebook Live video as a part of Jamie Albanese’s Heart of Stampin’ Up! Award Project along with Stacy DeWitt, Executive Director of the James Storehouse organization. Jamie is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator who said she was a foster child herself so she understands this situation. The James Storehouse organization is located in the Los Angeles, CA area (the area with the most foster children) and provides resources to children in foster care and those aging-out of foster care.

Stampin’ Up! will donate backpacks and school supplies and we invite demonstrators and customers to join the fun! There are two ways to support Jamie’s project for James Storehouse. First, you can check out the Amazon Wishlists to donate backpacks or school supplies for foster children of all ages. The backpack wishlist can be found here and the wishlist for school supplies can be found here. Or second, you can send cards to add inside the filled backpacks. Please include a short, encouraging note and sign with your first name only. Send finished cards to:

JAMES STOREHOUSE
3543 Old Conejo Road #105
Newbury Park, CA 91320
USA

The deadline for donation purchases and cards is 30 July 2021.

I encourage you to watch the Facebook Live video Sara did, whether or not you want to make a donation. It will warm your heart that there are people out there trying to help these children, young and older, even into college age. The basic message is these foster children sometimes leave their home or school with only the clothes on their back, sometimes are moved around a lot, and all they want is to know that something belongs to them, hence the backpack. The organization will fill each backpack with school supplies, surprisingly the same items for all ages because that is what they have found kids of all ages need to do school projects. That was amazing to me.

If you want to do a little something, just mail a card you have made. Just write a brief, uplifting, encouraging, happy message. They said don’t mention their circumstances or anything like that. If you watch the video, they give some examples. Just sign your first name. No envelope, please, because obviously, they will go through the cards to make sure they are appropriate before putting them in the backpacks. I think they would rather have someone send just a single card or a few cards, not a whole box full of cards like some of us might have stored away. They aren’t equipped to handle quantities like that.

We all know the joy even we feel when we get a card in the mail or we have heard how much it means to others to receive a card we send. Imagine children in very difficult circumstances find a card or two in their new backpack wishing them well! Watch the video to understand what Stampin’ Up! is helping with and to bring joy to your heart!
