Textured Floral Mother’s Day Card

Make this card, the Textured Floral Mother’s Day Card, for someone special to you on Mother’s Day or add a greeting for whatever occasion you need. You can do some stamping and some diecutting and then you can design your card!

I tried to make this card with mainly the new In Colors 2024-2026. I chose Pretty in Pink for the card base with a Basic White cardstock for the layer. I stamped quite a few flowers and leaves from the Textured Floral Stamp Set and then diecut them with the Textured Floral Dies. I wanted to have plenty to choose from when I put the card together.

The large flower is stamped in Pretty in Pink ink, and the smaller flowers in Petunia Pop ink and Peach Pie ink. The leaves are stamped in Shy Shamrock ink. The diecut foliage at the top is cut from Summer Splash Cardstock, just to get that color in!

The greeting is stamped in Pretty in Pink Ink and is in the Layers of Beauty Stamp Set. I didn’t leave much space for a greeting on this card so I had to choose something rather small. Even if you don’t have a “Happy Mother’s Day” greeting, you can use other ones that would still be fitting for your mother, grandmother, aunt, or whoever you are sending a card to. In this case, this “Grateful For You” greeting, appropriate for a mother, was still just a tiny bit too big even after I cut all around it. So I just cut off the “for you” and made it work! Maybe you will plan better than I did, or start with your greeting and fit the flowers around the greeting.

I loved using the new In Color 2024-2026 Shimmer Gems on this card! They are so pretty in color and have that faceted top. I used the Pretty in Pink, the Peach Pie, and the Shy Shamrock colors of gems.

You can use a different floral stamp set and dies to make a card similar to this one. Use what you have because you probably have something, maybe even this former Textured Floral Bundle. In the new catalog, the stamp sets that are returning from previous catalogs appear in the new catalog in the “Encore” section, starting on page 74 and going through page 80.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12 so get your card(s) made and I hope you receive some cards, too!

Zoo Crew Father’s Day Card

Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper
Father's Day Card

If you are looking for a whimsical card for Father’s Day, this Zoo Crew Father’s Day Card might do! If you don’t have “official” masculine stamp sets, look through your stash because you will find something you can use! Maybe just change the colors to make a card look more masculine if that’s what you want.

I thought it would be fun to try to make a Father’s Day card using the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper with all its cute, whimsical characters. Depending on who you are giving the card to, the page with the celebratory animals, like for a birthday, might work the best. But if you have a hiker, camper, or outdoorsman, the page with those images would be perfect.

This elephant holding a colorful banner seemed like it would work for a Father’s Day card. I diecut the elephant with a die in the Something Fancy Dies. Then I layered it on two Deckled Rectangle die cuts, one in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and one in Pool Party cardstock.

Once I decided on this scalloped wavy line pattern for the card background, I decided to color each line with a color in the elephant’s banner. I used Stampin’ Blends in Lemon Lolly, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, and Pumpkin Pie. I really like the look of the colored lines. The elephant is colored with the Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends.

After layering the elephant and the two rectangle layers together, I popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting, I used one in the Zany Zoo Stamp Set and then die cut with the hexagon shape die in the Something Fancy Dies. I stamped it a little off-center by accident, but since “there are no mistakes in stamping” I just added a few black Classic Matte Dots.

If you need a Father’s Day card for Sunday, you don’t need everything to be masculine and specific for Father’s Day. See what you have and just choose something you can use. It’s the thought that counts!

Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card

Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card

This Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper will be in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog on June 4th and it is gorgeous! The patterns are handpainted images made into this lovely paper! I don’t know if we have ever had anything quite like this designer paper before at Stampin’ Up!

This card is an easy design using just a strip of the designer paper, coordinating cardstock colors, a greeting from the Floral Essence Stamp Set and this new beautiful ribbon, 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon.

The card base is Blackberry Bliss. I originally thought I was going to use Petal Pink and I had trimmed off this little strip of paper. When I changed to the Blackberry Bliss, I decided to just use that strip of pink next to the designer paper. I adhered a strip of the ribbon around the designer paper and tied on a bow. This ribbon is so pretty, but it also allows the designer paper to show through a bit.

The greeting is from the coordinating stamp set, Floral Essence. This stamp set has flowers and sentiments and also a coordinating punch, the Perennial Flower Punch. It fits one of the 3-petal stamp images so you can stamp and punch a couple and make a layered flower!

The greeting is die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered on a Layering Circles Petal Pink scalloped circle.

This is a very simple card. You could do some watermark-type stamping on the Blackberry Bliss with the flower stamps if you wanted to add more. You could add some rhinestones or little embellishments on the greeting or even a few scatted on the card base instead of the stamping. You can almost always make a card very simple or jazz it up in several ways.

Try this Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card when you get the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper or make some simple cards with whatever paper you have now.

Animal Expedition All-Occasion Card

Animal Expedition All-Occasion Card

You might not believe this all-occasion card is made with paper called Animal Expedition! This designer series paper is on the Last-Chance List so be sure to pick some up if you like it.

The focus of the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper is of course animals, very cute, whimsical animals. You might think this paper would only be for children or babies, but it’s for everyone for lots of happy cards and occasions! I didn’t think I had a need for it at first, but then I saw lots of cute samples and of course, had to have it! If you want it all, get the Animal Outing Bundle with the coordinating stamp set and dies. Remember, the Bundle saves you 10%. Although the stamp set is carrying over to the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog in June along with the Animal Friends Dies, you won’t be able to buy them in a Bundle saving 10%. So get them now!

As I looked through the papers before making this card, I almost picked the hippo paper but then this generic paper with just leaves and little birds looked so pretty I had to work with it first! You could use this paper for any pretty card or project, it doesn’t have to have anything to do with animals!

My card base is Call Me Clover Cardstock with a layer of Pool Party and then the designer paper. To match the little birds, I chose the Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon to embellish the card. For the greeting, I chose a sentiment in the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. This stamp set will also be in the new catalog! I cut it out with a die in the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies. I wanted to set this piece off a little bit, but there is no layer to match…..so I made my own! I simply put a layer of Berry Burst underneath the fancy die cut and trimmed around the edge. I did this not even wearing my glasses and it turned out fine! I think it adds a good contrast!

Always look through your designer papers, even after you’ve had them a long time and see what is in there that you may have forgotten! Sometimes you will find a generic pattern in a pack that doesn’t have anything to do with the theme of the other papers. Or you will have forgotten what all the paper designs are and you might find something that is perfect for your project!

Happiness Blooms Easy Card

Happiness Blooms Easy Card

How about this Happiness Blooms Easy Card for something quick and easy to make? You can adapt it to any occasion with the paper and the greeting. You can even embellish it a little more if you like, but for today I was looking for simple!

The card base is Call Me Clover Cardstock, not a color I use very often, but it goes with this paper. My real idea was to use this Happiness Blooms Designer Paper and when I looked at the patterns, this one with the flowers looked so pretty for a spring day. So once you have the card base and layer, all you really need is a greeting!

For the greeting, I chose something a little bit large, not too large, and this one from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set seemed just right. I just stamped it in Calypso Coral Ink and then took it over to my Big Shot to find a die with which to cut it out. Since my dies are spread all over the place in hopes of some organization on magnetic cards, the one that jumped out at me was this rectangle with the diagonal corners from the Frosted Floral Dies (no longer available! I guess they were from the Holiday Catalog! Sorry!). Of course, you could use almost any die or simply cut the stamped greeting into a rectangle. Then just cut a larger one, like I did, for a layer. Since my greeting had those diagonal corners, I simply snipped off the corners of the rectangle layer and it was perfect.

For an easy finishing touch, I added just a bit of the Calypso Coral 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon to the backside of the greeting and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love the Happiness Blooms Designer Paper, even the bold patterns which I might not always care for. This card is certainly a quick and easy one you can make with any designer paper or even a stamped layer of cardstock! Sometimes simple is best!

Amazing Life All-Occasion Happy Life Card

Amazing Life All-Occasion Happy Life Card

Sad to say, this Amazing Life All-Occasion Happy Life Card is the first time I have used the Amazing Life Stamp Set and now it is on the Last-Chance list! How does that happen? This is a perfectly wonderful stamp set with lots of great greetings, a cute cake, some flowers, and little embellishments.

To make this card, since I hadn’t used this stamp set before, I chose a color for the card that I haven’t used very much, Pineapple Punch. I also chose a paper from the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper for the layer on the card. It’s not my favorite paper in the bunch, but it works fine on this card. Actually, it is a good lesson on how to use bold patterns that maybe you don’t care for. If you use extra layers which partially cover up the bold pattern, then obviously it is not as noticeable.

I love this large greeting in the stamp set, and it was so much fun to color in. With the designer paper and the colorful greeting, this is such a “happy” card to send to someone! Whose day wouldn’t be brightened by receiving this card?! I stamped the greeting in Memento Ink and used the Stamparatus® for a couple of reasons. Since it was a new stamp, it was possible it might not stamp clearly the first time. With the Stamparatus I could stamp it over and over again (without moving the paper or the stamp) to make sure I got a good image. And I was right to use the Stampartus…..it took several times to make sure everything was stamped fully! I never could have done that without the Stamparatus.

After stamping the greeting on Whisper White, I die cut that piece with the 4th from the largest of the Rectangle Stitched Dies. Then I cut a layer of Pineapple Punch with the next largest die. I love that they both have that stitched edge! You can purchase the Amazing Life Stamp Set and the Rectangle Dies in a Bundle and save 10% if you order before the new catalog.

The flowers are stamped from the set and just cut out with Paper Snips. Even though I was stamping them on scrap paper, I used the Stamparatus and just moved the plate down one lower hinge at a time to get them all stamped on the paper. I didn’t have to do that but it was easy. Two of the flowers are popped up with the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it! A pretty easy card to make and I always love the opportunity to color with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. If you like this stamp set, stamps are guaranteed to be available until May 24th since Stampin’ Up! manufactures stamps themselves. Although the Rectangle dies carry over to the new catalog, if you want the stamp set and dies, be sure to order the Bundle and save a little bit of money. Make someone’s day by mailing them a bright and happy card like this Amazing Life All-Occasion Happy Life Card.
