Beautiful Friendship Happy to Know You Card

Beautiful Friendship Happy to Know You Card

Crazy how I picked out the colors for this Beautiful Friendship Happy to Know You Card! I decided I would make a card with this stamp set but had no idea what colors I wanted to use. I thought maybe yellow flowers and grabbed the Daffodil Delight Cardstock and the Poppy Parade practically jumped out at me off the shelf! I wondered if the card would be too bright, but I don’t think it turned out to be! It’s a bright, happy card!

This Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set is on the retiring list for May 3. I think it’s one of those stamp sets that no one makes a big fuss over, yet it is so pretty with greetings in a beautiful font. Just a great stamp set to have on hand for making pretty cards! Here is a card I made with the stamp set last year after going on the annual Azalea Trail. That was when we were hearing a little about the virus and stocking up on toilet paper but had no idea what was headed our way.

As I said, I used Poppy Parade for the card base and a layer of Daffodil Delight to go with the yellow flowers. I essentially copied a sample card in the outgoing Stampin’ Up! catalog on page 115.

The large flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight with some of the smaller accents stamped in Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, and Rich Razzleberry (because it was in the wrong slot on my ink pad stand!). I was choosing other Brights colors.

The greeting is stamped in Poppy Parade and die cut with this long die in the Tasteful Labels Dies. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals but ran a piece of 3/8″ Fine Art Ribbon with its gold threads underneath. The card could use a few sequins or gems of some kind if you wanted to do that! Or you can keep it simple!

We only have about three weeks left of this Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! Keep checking the Last-Chance List in the Online Store so you can see what is still actually available. If it says “backordered” you can go ahead and order the item and Stampin’ Up! will ship it to you automatically as soon as they have it back in stock. Check the Clearance Rack tomorrow morning. I “think” there might be new items added but we’ll have to see!

Peaceful Poppies Birthday Card in Poppy Parade

Peaceful Poppies Birthday Card in Poppy Parade

Make this easy and bright Peaceful Poppies Birthday Card in Poppy Parade with this great floral paper! It’s sure to brighten someone’s day and all you have to do is change the greeting for the occasion.

It’s funny sometimes how a card comes to be. I was making another project which I will show another day and in my package of Poppy Parade paper, I already had a folded card base. The Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper was also on my table that I had used on the other project and this particular paper jumped out at me. So I thought why not just go ahead and make another card and make it rather quick and easy!

All I had to do was cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the designer paper I liked and wrap a piece of ribbon around it before adhering to the card base. The ribbon I used is the Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon which is a really nice, soft ribbon that is easy to use even though it is wide and looks like it would be heavy.

The greeting is stamped in Poppy Parade Ink and is from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. I made a card with that stamp set recently because sometimes we forget about the great stamp sets and products in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog when we are glued to the extra Mini Catalogs of the season. I punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch. The problem then is what to layer it on! I tried various die cuts and things and finally settled on just adhered the punched piece to a piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock and then just cut around it with Paper Snips! It’s not perfect but you can do it and it doesn’t have to be perfect. What person who gets the card is going to say, “I wish she had cut that curve better!”?

For a bit of embellishment I added two Gold Glitter Enamel Dots on the greeting. You could also add some sequins to the card or tie on ribbon on each side of the greeting.

If you are staying at home to avoid getting sick, this is a good time to make a stash of cards to keep on hand, but also to send! Just think how anxious we all are and how receiving a card in the mail will brighten someone’s day like nothing else will. And if it comes from YOU, that makes it the most special! Use this design of my Peaceful Poppies Birthday Card in Poppy Parade in the same colors or change the colors or change the greeting or the ribbon and then mail it!

Beautiful Friendship Pink Flowers Card

Beautiful Friendship Pink Flowers Card

This weekend begins the River Oaks Garden Club Azalea Trail 2020 that we always like to go to so I made this Beautiful Friendship Pink Flowers Card to commemorate what we will likely see on the Trail. Actually, our yard is looking like this with our azaleas and even our Bluebonnets blooming. However, our home and garden aren’t quite like the ones we will see on the Azalea Trail! Those homes and gardens on the Azalea Trail are beautiful and today the weather should be beautiful!

Some people have been dusting off a stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that I hadn’t seen in a while but makes beautiful cards really with just stamping unless you want to make it fancier. Sometimes I forget if I actually own it or wish I had it! It’s on my shelf, I own it, thank goodness! It’s the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set and has beautiful flower images and very nice sayings. It made me think of the flowering azaleas in our yard with various shades of pink (even on the same bush somehow!) and the bluebonnets blooming in the backyard.

For this card, I started with a card base of Melon Mambo, with a layer of Blushing Bride underneath the Whisper White top layer. I simply stamped the large grouping of blooms in Blushing Bride a couple of times in two rows. You can also overstamp, with the single flower stamp, in the same color to add more layers on the flower as I ended up doing to fill in some of the white space in between the petals. Then I stamped that smaller flower image in Melon Mambo because our azalea bushes sometimes have a few blooms of a different lighter or darker color than what the bush is supposed to be! For the bluebonnets, I stamped the springs of tiny flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink. The leaves are stamped in Granny Apple Green ink. With one of the smaller stamps, I added a bit of So Saffron to the centers of some of the flowers. I like the look of a bit of yellow on the card.

The sentiment is from the same Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. I cut it out with the Layering Ovals Dies as well as the Melon Mambo scalloped oval. Before I added the sentiment, I colored in the background very lightly with my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends marker just to look a little like blue sky, although I think it washed out in the photo.

If you wanted to add anything to this card, you could color over some of the flowers with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add a little bit of shimmer. You could also, or separately, add a few pretty sequins mixed in with the flowers.

Here’s a card I made last year, even simpler, with the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. Add this stamp set to your Stampin’ Up! order and get closer to earning Sale-A-Bration rewards!

I hope this Beautiful Friendship Pink Flowers Card makes you think of spring wherever you live, whether you are experiencing it or not because spring is coming!

Beautiful Friendship Floral Card

Beautiful Friendship Floral Card

Here’s my first go with the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set, this Beautiful Friendship Floral Card. It was a stamp set that I kind of missed at first, then when I noticed it, I ordered it right away.

I did the easiest thing……just stamped to play with the stamps. Remember to put a little cushion underneath these photopolymer stamps for the best image. I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and of course, using the Stamparatus is always a good idea so you can re-stamp if you don’t get a good impression at first.

When I went to get my paper out, I thought I would use Melon Mambo, one of my favorite colors but I haven’t used it much recently. However, when I saw Poppy Parade on top, I just chose that and grabbed some Daffodil Delight for a layer behind the Whisper White. See! You don’t always have to have everything planned out when you make a card!

The flowers are stamped in Poppy Parade with Granny Apple Green leaves. Then I thought I would add some extra flowers with Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight. When I was finished, I realized probably some of those stamps were really meant to stamp the inside of the flowers, but I was finished and happy with my card so I didn’t go back! I’ll have to try to make them more authentic next time!

Since I didn’t leave myself much room for a greeting, I used one from my other new stamp set, Modern Heart. I have to play with that stamp set, too! Sometimes it is nice to “just stamp” and not die-cut or embellish or color in or whatever. Just simple! I think this Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set will produce lots of gorgeous cards and has very nice sentiments as well!
