Friendly Hello Bird Just For You Card

Friendly Hello Bird Just For You Card

The first month of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration is over today! But there is one more month so maybe you can snag this beautiful designer paper and stamp set with a $100 purchase! This Friendly Hello Bird Just For You Card is made with the Friendly Hello Bundle.

I was in a card-making frenzy the other day with this Friendly Hello Bundle! I chose several colors of cardstock for card bases that matched the designer paper and cut the designer paper to layer on the card. Then I ended up making every card a slightly different design with different greetings and embellishments. I stamp at my kitchen table so it’s always a shame when I have to stop for dinner! But I find it easy to clean up my stamping stuff more than anything else because I know where each thing goes.

An interesting thing about the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper is that it is designed so you can add some stamped line images to the paper! Some of the images in the Friendly Hello Stamp Set match the images in the paper.

For this card, though, I ended up using a Basic White card base plus a Petal Pink layer underneath the designer paper. I stamped the bird on a piece of Basic White and then cut it out with a die in the Tasteful Labels Dies. It seemed like it needed something, being all monochromatic, so I went back to an old technique we used to do a LOT – Sponging around the edges! This time, however, instead of using a piece of a Stamping Sponge, I used the new Blending Brushes. I just rubbed the brush on the Petal Pink ink pad to pick up some ink and started off the diecut before blending onto the edge. It’s very light, especially in the photo, but it just adds a little something! I popped this piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

The greeting is in the new stamp set Celebrating You. It is in the new Spring Mini Catalog on page 65. It is a stamp set full of basic greetings that we all need all year. There are other stamp sets that have fun and trendy sayings, but mostly we all need a set of these basic sentiments. This set will take care of all those important occasions from birthdays to baby to anniversary to Father’s Day! I stamped it in Petal Pink ink and just made the little banner ends.

Before adhering the layers to the card base, be sure to do the ribbon first! This is the very beautiful Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon. It’s one of my favorites! I wrapped the ribbon around the card layers then tied a separate bow and adhered that with a Mini Glue Dot or two.

This Friendly Hello Bird Just For You Card is pretty basic, really, but the diecut showcasing the bird on a twig and sponged around the edge plus the ribbon makes it look rather elegant.

Hello Friend Greeting Card

Hello Friend Greeting Card

This Friendly Hello Stamp Set and the coordinating Friendly Hello Designer Paper go together to make all kinds of pretty cards for many occasions and you can get them both FREE during Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration with a $100 purchase! Sale-A-Bration is the annual promotion Stampin’ Up! has that we all love! One month is just about over but you still have February to get your free goodies!

I was playing with this set and several different easy card designs just came to me! This was one of them, even though I didn’t start off thinking I would use this greeting! The card base is Basic White, although the other cards I was making had colored cardstock bases. Just add a layer of the Pool Party patterned paper with the flowers and birds.

The greeting is stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White and then die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The white paper and the little scalloped edge stand out just fine from the busy background so I didn’t need another layer behind the greeting.

For a little extra decoration, I stamped the two flowers in the set in Pool Party ink also, then cut them out by hand (easy enough!). I popped those flowers up on Stampin’ Dimensionals® covering part of the bottom of the greeting. It’s easy to just stamp these flowers in colored ink for the monochromatic look that you don’t have to color in!

The Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels were a great finishing touch as any sparkly embellishment is! I added two larger rhinestones to the flowers and then put three more of the smallest rhinestones on other parts of the card front. Can’t have too many jewels on a card! (Well, yes you can, but it’s hard to stop once you get started!!)

You can check out the Friendly Hello Bundle with the stamp set and Friendly Hello 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure on pages 12-13 or in the Online Store. You’ll see several pretty card samples there as well! AND the designer paper is meant to be stamped on with certain outline images if you want to play!

Don’t let Sale-A-Bration pass you by! You know time flies if it is already the end of January and it seems like Christmas was just over a week or so ago!! If you have a $100 order, choose this Friendly Hello Bundle and make something like this Hello Friend Greeting Card and lots more!
