Biggest Wish Hello Card For a Friend

Biggest Wish Hello Card For a Friend

When you need a big wish for someone, use the Biggest Wish Stamp Set and make something like this Biggest Wish Hello Card For a Friend. This will be a fun stamp set to play with since there are so many possibilities and something a little bit different.

To make this card, I just did random stamping by hand. I didn’t use the Stamparatus, just hoped I lined things up reasonably straight and in a decent place! This is my first attempt and I made others, but eventually decided this stamped card front was the best of the bunch!

I wanted to add the word “friend” at the bottom but found that stamping it on a tag or label did not fit very well on the card. It could be done but you probably need to start stamping at the very tip-top of the card. Or start stamping a little lower down and don’t stamp near the bottom of the card. I just stamped it at the bottom right on the card front, and it fit just fine there.

I used all the new In Colors on this card. The card base is Polished Pink. I used four of the In Colors on the “Hello” and then used Evening Evergreen for the word “friend”. The extra little tiny stamped images are also in the In Colors. If I had stamped the word “friend” before adding the little “pluses”, I wouldn’t have had to stamp over those! For some extra embellishment, I added some of the 2021-23 In Color Jewels. They sold out for a while but are back in stock now!

Use the Biggest Wish Stamp Set when you want to send a Big Wish! There are big words of Thanks, Birthday, Happy, and Friend plus Hello, of course, and then smaller cursive words the same words plus the little “pluses” images. You will have fun making projects with this stamp set!

Make Cards With Retiring In Colors!

Retired In Colors Card

There are just a few more days left for the retiring In Colors 2018-2020 so I thought I would make some cards with them before they are gone. I found these In Colors pretty likeable, especially the Lovely Lipstick, since I love red. But somehow I don’t use my In Colors as often as my regular colors. Maybe I will with the incoming In Colors next week!

These are the retiring In Colors that came out in 2018. In Colors are available for two years and each year a new group of five colors, colors that are the trendy, in style colors come out.

To make this card, I started with a card base of Pineapple Punch layered with Whisper White. I used the Small Bloom Punch (you may have earned it for free during Sale-A-Bration and now it is in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog!!) to punch three flowers out of each In Color. I didn’t know how it would all work out, but somehow I got all the flowers laid out on the card so that they looked balanced and not too crowded.

I thought a regular greeting on the card would be too large, so I used my Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set and simply stamped in between the flowers, in the In Color Inks. It was a little risky! I should have placed, but not glued down the flowers, and then stamped so if I messed up, I wouldn’t have ruined the whole card! But sometimes you don’t know that ahead of time! It worked out with just one imperfection! (All three Itty Bitty stamp sets…Greetings, Birthday, and Christmas are carried over into the new catalog which I am very happy about! I use these a lot!)

For the flower centers I used the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots which have three In Colors in them. They worked very well, I think!

And here is another In Color card using the retiring 2018-20 In Colors:

Retiring In Colors Lovely Day Card

I made this one because I found the die cut already in the bag with the Grapefruit Grove Cardstock. The die cut is in the Stitched Labels Dies which are retiring now. I stamped a greeting in the Forever Lovely Stamp Set on Whisper White and die cut with an oval in the Stitched Shapes Dies.

The Whisper White layer is first embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I thought the white layer needed a little something so this provides just a little texture in the background.

The die cut greeting piece is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and two of the flowers in the In Colors are popped up also, but the others are just glued flat onto the Whisper White layer. I also used the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots on the centers of these flowers.

Here is another card I made using the In Colors and the Small Blooms Punch during Sale-A-Bration, for another card idea.

And that’s it! Two fun and easy cards using the last of the 2018-20 In Colors as they retire!

Thoughtful Blooms Punched In Color Flowers Card

Thoughtful Blooms Punched In Color Flowers Card

Here’s another springtime card for you, the Thoughtful Blooms Punched In Color Flowers Card. Almost everything on this card is free with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration. In fact, the inspiration for this card started with a sample in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

In case you are new and have never heard of Stampin’ Up!’s big promotion called Sale-A-Bration, this is a favorite but is going to end on March 31. With every $50 Stampin’ Up! purchase, you can choose a free item in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. There are some higher value items, like the Small Bloom Punch that I used for this card, that are free with a $100 purchase. So with a $100 Stampin’ Up! purchase, you can choose either one $100 Sale-A-Bration item or 2 Sale-A-Bration items designated with a $50 emblem. No limit! And once you reach $150, you also get to choose Stampin’ Rewards!

This card starts with a bright yellow base, Pineapple Punch, one of the outgoing In Colors from 2018-2020. I decided to only use this group of In Colors since they will be retiring soon. On the Whisper White top layer, I have flowers of Grapefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, and a Pineapple Punch flower also.

The Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set, free with a $50 purchase, is the stamp set I used to stamp the flower stems and leaves and greeting. The flowers were stamped with Versamark Ink and then punched out with the Small Blooms Punch. Before I stamped the stems, I cut a strip of the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper, also free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure! It is a green backside of one of the lily designs and looks just like someone painted it with a watercolor brush. I thought it would be an interesting representation of grass!

To finish off the flowers, which were popped up on Mini Dimensionals, I added a Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel on each one. You can still purchase these, which came out in the Holiday Catalog, under the Holiday Favorites Category in the Online Store.

The sentiment also comes from the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp set and has two rhinestones added also. All you have to do is change the greeting for another occasion because you can use a floral card for lots of things!

If you are interested in these In Colors, I would suggest ordering what you need, particularly ink refills NOW before the panic begins when the retirement list comes out. Sometimes the In Colors sell out quickly.

In Colors Modern Heart Card

In Colors Modern Heart Card

Sometimes I saw “Know when to stop!” but for this In Colors Modern Heart Card I said to myself “Keep going!” My brilliant idea in my head was to play with the new In Colors that just came out in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I had purchased the package of markers since the Purple Posy Ink is still unavailable. What I thought I would do was scribble each marker on an acrylic block and then stamp that on paper. As it turned out, I got the idea to use the Modern Heart Stamp Set and it has a squiggle stamp in it that served that purpose rather than the block.

I started by coloring on the squiggle stamp with each In Color and then stamping it on the Thick Whisper White Cardstock, since I was only going to use this for the card with no layers or anything else. Then I stamped the Modern Heart in Memento Black Ink over the stamped squiggle. Next I stamped the greeting from the same set, but it was all too blah. I stamped the smaller modern hearts 3 times in each In Color around the card, but I still didn’t like it. Then I stamped the teeny tiny heart in each color just once. Somehow just that teeny heart I thought made it look better. But still…..

I gave in and chopped the card front off and added In Color cardstock layers and card base and just used the stamped Whisper White piece as the top layer. That was better. When I looked in my drawer for some other embellishment I found these little epoxy gold hearts (retired from last year) and added three of those. Not sure I should have added those, but altogether, I was happier with this card.

Actually, I think part of the problem is maybe I’m not too fond of this years In Colors, but neither have I played with them much. Sometimes that’s what you need to do to like something! So as I said, usually I think don’t overdo things on a card, know when to stop. But in this case, continuing to add some things I think made it better. Not my best or my favorite, but stamped, nonetheless! Nice to just do stamping sometimes!
