Quick Christmas Gold Dipped Cards & Envelopes

Gold Dipped Blue Cards

If you need “just a few more cards” for Christmas at the last minute, if you have this package of cards and envelopes, these Quick Christmas Gold Dipped Cards & Envelopes might save you! Maybe you ordered them and forgot you had them, but they are nice to have on hand and very pretty and colorful! It’s great if you have any of the Ephemera Packs in the Holiday Mini or the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper with die cuts or any of the Sticker Sheets that came with some of the designer paper in the “Scrapbook Workshop” packages. Now is the time to scrounge around and use what you have!

These cards use the Gold Dipped Specialty Cards & Envelopes at Stampin’ Up! You will find them and lots of samples on pages 14-19 in the Holiday Mini. Here are some that I either copied from the sample or used my own ideas.

Gold Dipped Ephemera Christmas Cards

You can turn the cards vertically like the top two cards or horizontally like the two just above. I didn’t do any stamping except on the inside of the card where I stamped “Merry Christmas” or some other sentiment on a stamp. These larger cards are great for writing that Christmas note! Wish I’d thought of that earlier for certain people instead of cramming it in on the inside of the card or a notepaper!

Gold Dipped Christmas Cards

Here are a few gift tags I also made with the Tags For the Season Ephemera Pack and other pieces of ephemera.

Ephemera Gift Tags

You can pop up some of the pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals or just adhere them flat on the card or tag. You can also make tags and then attach to the front of the card and maybe add a little bit more of designer paper or stamping or whatever you need. If you only attach it with minimal glue, maybe the recipient can remove the tag and use it for a gift! But maybe they won’t want to take apart your pretty card!

I hope these cards give you some ideas here at the end of our holiday preparations! And add a few gems, jewels, or sequins, whatever you have, for a little sparkle and bling! Even three add a lot of pizzazz to the cards!

A Little Bit Festive Cocoa & Gingerbread Card

A Little Bit Festive Cocoa & Gingerbread Card

When you don’t have your own original idea, you can copy a card from the Stampin’ Up! catalog as I did with this A Little Bit Festive Cocoa & Gingerbread Card. You will find the sample that I copied on page 18 in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I changed mine just a tiny bit, but it was fun to make!

This Christmas card uses the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper comes with three regular double-sided sheets of designer paper and three sheets of Christmas die cuts that you can use for cards or holiday projects. It’s really fun to work with, just playing with all the pieces!

This card has a card base of Real Red and a layer of the red and white striped designer paper in this package. After playing with the die cut pieces to get the design set, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ layered on a piece of Real Red cardstock at 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″. I arranged the die cut pieces like on the sample in the catalog. The cup of hot chocolate is adhered flat to the card, the gingerbread tree and gingerbread man are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the gingerbread present is glued flat on the card. I chose “Happy Holidays” for the greeting in the Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack.

For a little embellishment, this was the perfect card on which to use the Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints. Unfortunately, these cute embellishments have been very difficult to keep in stock and are backordered even now. Hopefully, you already snagged some earlier. These do look cute with two next to the cocoa cup and one looking like it is floating in the whipped cream topping!

My card looks almost exactly like the sample card in the catalog, but if you look closely, you will see mine is the full size card and the sample looks to be square. My red and white stripes are running horizontally rather than vertically. And as I said, I used a different greeting and the peppermint embellishments. This is what usually happens when you plan to copy a card Almost always you will find your own little twist you want to put on the card and that helps get your creativity flowing!

Reindeer Days Circle Window Card

Reindeer Days Circle Window Card

I called this card the Reindeer Days Circle Window Card because the center focal point is actually an opening to the designer paper image underneath. It’s almost like a shaker card without covering the hole and filling it with shaker bits. But you could easily make it a shaker card if you wanted to!

The card base is Real Red cardstock. The designer paper is the white dotted paper in the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper. I used one of the Deckled Circles Dies to cut a hole in the paper. To make a frame, I used the next larger size Deckled Circle die to cut out a piece of Basic White cardstock plus the same smaller circle inside that one. You want that diecut piece to fit around the diecut circle on the designer paper. These dies are not available right now, so if you don’t have those, just use some other circle dies you have, perhaps the circles in the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I looked over the patterned paper in the Reindeer Days DSP, the one with the reindeer and the reindeer snowmen, and chose an area that I wanted to appear in my diecut window on the front of the card. I cut it out and positioned it so it would fit exactly right in that window and adhered it to the card base. Then I popped up the whole front part of the card with the window with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting fits perfectly at the base of the card. It is in the Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack. It’s so easy to find the right greeting in the ephemera pack and just glue it on! Plus, the Reindeer Days DSP and the Ephemera Packs are discounted now on the Last Chance list. I also added some Iridescent Foil Gems to the scene with the snowman and reindeer for a little sparkle!

Be sure to check out the Last Chance Products list as the Holiday Mini will be retiring January 6th. However, the retiring products will stay on the Last Chance list while supplies last so you might still be able to buy them longer than when they were completely gone on the retirement date.

Sentimental Christmas Season’s Greetings Christmas Card

Sentimental Christmas Season's Greetings Christmas Card

There are lots of ways that cardmaking has been made easier this season! All you need is some cardstock, designer paper, and some ephemera! Maybe some embellishments for sparkle or fun. You can’t necessarily make multiples of cards if you are using ephemera because you usually have only two or three identical pieces, but you can make an assortment of different designs of cards quickly and, especially, having fun doing it.

This card has a Garden Green cardstock base. The designer paper is Sentimental Christmas. You’ll find it on page 29 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. One special thing about this paper is that Stampin’ Up! is donating $3 for every package of Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper sold to benefit children’s literacy around the world. So while we stamp and create, we will also be helping children the world over!

The patterned paper I used on this card more or less has a border of candy canes, berries, and greenery as a border around the edge of the paper. It would be great for scrapbooking Christmas memories, but it can also be cut apart for cardmaking or other projects. That’s what I did to make several Christmas cards. Several of them will have the candy canes and decorations in the corner of the card, but from a piece in the center of the designer paper, you will only have the candy canes at the top or bottom of the card. You can see how the main design of the paper is at the bottom of my card.

In the center of the whole paper you can see very light snowflakes, so on my card, that provides a large open space for a large greeting on my card. I used the “Season’s Greetings” in gold foil that is in the Joyful Sayings Mix & Match Ephemera Pack in the Holiday Mini on page 15. With the elegant cursive font, these are especially beautiful. You do have to use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them as they are very narrow. It’s probably best to make a little puddle of glue on scrap paper and then use a toothpick to very carefully apply dots of glue in as many places as you can on the back of the greeting so that you use the tiniest amounts of glue possible! I decided to apply my greeting on a diagonal, but you could make it straight also.

I also applied three of the Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints on the card. These little peppermints have been so popular it’s been hard to keep them in stock. They are due back in stock THIS WEEK so keep checking!

A red or green ribbon could be applied on the side of the card. And putting some Wink of Stella on the berries and candy canes would be nice, too, if you wanted to add some extra things to the card. If you are one of my newsletter subscribers you saw a card made with this same paper, but the design of the paper is in the corner.

It’s a good idea to find some easy cards to make to send to lots of people on your Christmas card list and then you might also like to make some that are a little more involved for some family or special people on your list!

Snowy Scenes Snowy Trees Holiday Card

Snowy Scenes Snowy Trees Holiday Card

This Snowy Scenes Snowy Trees Holiday Card is made with several different elements and it all turned out to be a quick and easy card! I got my order from the online September Scrapbooking Brochure that Stampin’ Up! recently put out with new products that coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.

This is a digital-only scrapbooking brochure, full of scrapbooking essentials and exciting new products. With Workshop Kits and some new product releases like Two-Tone Cardstock and another white cardstock choice, this will add variety and inspiration to your holiday crafts this year! Even if you are not doing scrapbooking or memory-keeping, you can use these products to make cards and other projects, as I did with this holiday card above!

The card base is Pool Party cardstock which coordinates with the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. You can order this cute paper by itself in the Holiday Mini or you can order it with a sticker sheet in this online brochure. That’s what I did. The sticker sheet only comes with the designer paper package, not separately. You can also purchase a whole Suite of products in the Holiday Mini.

On the Pool Party card base, I added a snowflake layer of the Snowy Scenes DSP. The snow globe is cut out with Paper Snips from another sheet of the designer paper. I popped up the snow globe with a lot of Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I looked at the Sticker Sheet and saw some snowflakes, so I punched out two of those and added them as embellishments to the snowglobe, putting a Dimensional under the part that hung off the snowglobe since the snowglobe was popped up. The stickers really are stickers with adhesive on the back! For a greeting, I chose this banner shape in the Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I thought the color, shape, and size was perfect to add to this snowglobe!

For a finishing touch, I added several white sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio. You’ll find these in the Annual Catalog! There are other embellishments you could use or a touch of ribbon or a little Wink of Stella on the trees or snowflakes.

You will find a lot of other wonderful products in this September Scrapbooking Brochure so be sure to check it out! And don’t forget the Clearance Rack, but hurry!
