Prized Peony Monochromatic Petal Pink Card

Prized Peony Monochromatic Petal Pink Card

This Prized Peony Monochromatic Petal Pink Card is hot off the press! Just opened my order with this stamp set and paper in it and got to work, amid a few other interruptions!

The card base is Petal Pink to match the ink. It is actually lighter in color than in this photograph although the ink is fairly dark. Maybe I just have a juicy ink pad at the moment. I simply stamped the peony in the Prized Peony Stamp Set and the greeting in the same stamp set and cut down the cardstock a little to make it smaller. Then it was layered on a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock.

I looked through the pretty patterns of the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper and choose this one with a small Petal Pink floral print. It provides some interest and is good for the small amount of design that is actually going to show around the stamped peony.

I opted not to add any ribbon on the card wrapped around the peony piece, but after I had the card all made, of course, I couldn’t resist adding some of the new Elegant Faceted Gems. You can feel the facets on them. They are very pretty.

That’s how easy it is to make a monochromatic card with this stamp set, cardstock, and designer paper. You can also purchase the Prized Peony Bundle which includes the stamp set and Peony Dies and you save 10% on the price! Even if you purchase the entire Suite, you will still be getting the discounted price on the Bundle.

If I would have chosen to use the dies, I could have die cut this entire stamped flower and mounted it maybe with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the card to pop it up. This is going to be a beautiful stamp set to play with! If you order it or order the dies, look up some videos online of how to use the “pieces” of the flower to make it layered. You will wonder at first what on earth to do with the pieces that don’t look like anything, but they simply layer together to make something that looks like a 3D flower if you kind of shade the edges of the petals or pop them up with Dimensionals underneath or just have the pieces layered flat on the card which will still be impressive!

Start out with something easy like this Prized Peony Monochromatic Petal Pink Card. Just stamp the large peony in a colored ink or in black and then color in or sponge on some color. I think this stamp set will make beautiful cards with some basic simple stamping or you can make something extremely impressive to the recipient with easy steps for you to make it! Just play and have fun with this peony!

Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card

Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card

If you want to make a pretty quick and easy Easter card, this Monochromatic Welcome Easter Bunny Card is a good one to make! I really like the way this card turned out!

For this card, I stamped the bunny in the Welcome Easter Stamp Set in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped it in Highland Heather randomly on the Whisper White card front for a background and then on another piece of Whisper White that was die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies for the focal point of the card. The card base is Highland Heather to match the ink and the scalloped circle layer under the center bunny.

The ribbon underneath the center bunny is the pretty striped Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon. Although it is a slightly different purple color, it works just fine and the recipient of your card is still going to love it! I popped up the bunny piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals® and the ribbon’s fold sticks out the top and then tail ends hang out the bottom. Easy and cute!

The greeting is from the same Welcome Easter Stamp Set and layered on a piece of Highland Heather. To add a little something on the greeting I also stamped some of the little flowers in the stamp set at the ends.

A few years ago I made a similar card with a different bunny stamp. You can see it HERE. I stamped the bunny in one color randomly in the background and then colored in just one bunny and added a greeting. That card shows how you can use a bunny stamp to make an Easter card or a Baby card! Bunnies are so versatile!

There are lots of cards you can make simply by using only one color as in my monochromatic Easter card with the Welcome Easter bunny. Try one!

Nature’s Beauty Monochromatic Deer Card

Nature's Beauty Monochromatic Deer Card

This Nature’s Beauty Monochromatic Deer Card shows an easy way to make a card using this beautiful stamp set. Enjoy using this Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set while knowing that a portion of every stamp set sold goes to mental health organizations. Enjoy your hobby while helping other people!

Nature's Beauty Stamp Set images

You can make cards for many occasions with this Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set. That bunny is perfect for baby cards or Easter. Everyone loves deer so you have that covered for many cards. Even just the little trees will be fun to use.

To make this card, I used Crumb Cake for everything. The card base is Crumb Cake Cardstock with some stamping of Crumb Cake Ink. You could also use Versamark Ink for that same color or watermark look. The deer and trees are stamped on Whisper White Cardstock with Crumb Cake Ink. The greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake Ink with a little sponging around the edges.

The greeting is stamped and then die cut with one of the Ornate Frames Dies. The greeting itself is from the Gather Together Stamp Set. Just for a tiny bit of bling, I added two gold dots (that I think are retired!).

To stamp the deer with the trees behind him, stamp the deer on the Whisper White Cardstock, then stamp him preferably on a piece of sticky note and cut out. The “sticky” will help hold the “mask” on the cardstock in place. Place the mask over the deer then stamp the trees, even overlapping onto the sticky note because that is protecting the deer. Remove the mask and see how the masking technique worked! Save the mask in your stamp set so you can reuse it, no matter how messy it looks!

If you are looking for masculine cards or for someone who likes nature, this stamp set is perfect, not to mention making any kinds of cards you like with it. I think it is a nice change from all the florals and more “common” type of stamp sets. My son became fascinated with foxes after going to some national parks or other similar places were he saw foxes. One place was even some kind of preserve for foxes and people gather at a distance to take photos. So sometime I will make him a fox card!

If you don’t have time for coloring and all that, for any card that you are making, remember the monochromatic way of stamping…..just one color, no coloring!

Monochromatic Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card

Monochromatic Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card

Even though this Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper is no longer available since Sale-A-Bration ended, but I’ve had this Monochromatic Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card in my mind for a awhile and I imagine a lot of you have this paper from your Sale-A-Bration order.

Easter is only a week away, so if you are pressed for time to make some cards and get them sent out, you might want to make something easy like this card.

The card base is Highland Heather Cardstock, one of the new colors from the current catalog. This is one of the coordinating colors of the Botanical Butterflies paper and we have a whole sheet of this floral Highland Heather all in one color. It was a paper that I could use with the bunny from the Fable Friends Stamp Set. I just trimmed about a 1 1/4″ strip of the floral paper and a layer of Whisper White and adhered the paper to the Whisper White. I tied a ribbon and bow around the strip with the Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon. The bunny is stamped in Highland Heather Ink on the Whisper White as is the greeting in the same stamp set of Fable Friends.

Not one to leave things alone, I risked messing up the whole card by coloring in the bunny’s jacket with a Blender Pen and a tiny bit of Highland Heather Ink. I just touched the Blender Pen to the ink pad, wiped it a little bit on my Grid Paper to make it lighter and then colored in the jacket. I even added a bit of the color to the inside of his ears. I think it helps set off the bunny a little bit.

If you really like to color, I would highly recommend coloring in the bunny with whatever method you like…..but if you want to make a super easy, quick card try this monochromatic method. It also works well on the smaller Notecards & Envelopes.

For a quick card, try making something that you can just stamp in one ink color with maybe a coordinating piece of designer paper or ribbon like this Monochromatic Fable Friends Bunny Easter Card.

PS: Remember! The Stampin’ Up! Retiring List comes out tomorrow afternoon, April 15, at 1:00 PM (MT). Also, the Stampin’ Up! OnStage events were held over the weekend so if you look around online, you will find photos of the new catalog cover and some of the new stamp sets, new In Colors, and more!
