Thinking of You Card With Perennial Essence Paper

Thinking of You Card With Perennial Essence Paper

The other day I was looking through the Perennial Essence Designer Paper and was reminded how beautiful it is so I came up with this Thinking of You Card With Perennial Essence Paper. It’s a basic simple card design, you can make this card with an even easier look. It just depends on how you want to design your card.

The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is designed with handpainted impressionistic images. While you might think that isn’t your cup of tea, when you see the paper it really is beautiful and the paper has so many coordinating colors. For this card, I chose the beautiful white flowers that coordinate with Petal Pink, for one color. I used Petal Pink as the card base with a layer of Whisper White in between the colored cardstock and the designer paper.

The Perennial Essence Designer Paper is even discounted in price in the Last-Chance Products! Usually, you can count on almost all designer paper to be retired to make room for new patterns in the new catalog!

Before adhering the designer paper to the cardstock, I adhered some Petal Pink 1/4″ Metallic Edge Ribbon around the side of the designer paper. I tied the bow separately and stuck it on with Mini Glue Dots. That’s a little easier getting it oriented exactly how you want it rather than tying it onto the ribbon.

For the greeting, you can choose almost anything! If you are lucky enough to have a mother or grandmother to send a Mother’s Day card to, this card would be lovely. Actually you could even use this greeting if you didn’t have a Mother’s Day greeting. And with the world in the situation it is in right now, this card and greeting is perfect to send to almost anyone in our lives, because who are we not thinking of with all of our heart? This greeting is in the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. I am so glad this set is carried over to the new catalog!

The greeting is stamped on Whisper White Cardstock in Petal Pink Ink and die cut with one of the rectangle dies in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. As I write this, these dies are “Unorderable” but they should be available soon. And they will be in the new catalog! I like these dies! Then the greeting is layered on another Petal Pink die cut from the same set. And I couldn’t resist adding a little bit of bling in the empty space! I added two Petal Pink Rhinestone Jewels to the top and bottom of the die-cut. These pink rhinestones of various shapes are in the Last-Chance products at a discounted price!

Mother’s Day is coming May 10th so get ready by making a card like this Thinking of You Card With Perennial Essence Paper or change the greeting for almost any other occasion.

St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card

St. Pat's Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, maybe you want to make card something like this St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card. You’re probably not going out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day today so you might as well STAMP! I think this card could even be one to send someone any time because hearts are good at any time whether they are making up shamrocks or just a leafy plant!

I started with a card base of Old Olive and a layer of Whisper White. I didn’t even know exactly what I was going to make except that it had to be green for St. Pat’s. I settled on using the Heart Punch with the scalloped edge in the Heart Punch Pack. You get two punches in this pack, a plain edge heart and a scalloped edge heart. As a bonus, you can layer the hearts! You can use hearts any time, not just for Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day! You will find them in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

For something more interesting, I looked through my designer paper until I found a “solid” green I could use. I found this green in the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. Don’t forget to look at the backsides of the pretty patterned papers! Often there is something very interesting on both sides of the designer paper! I punched three hearts out of this paper and just cut a little curved strip for the stem. Although the paper color is basically a solid green, you can see that there are color variations in it that make it interesting and appealing! I think this greenery can be any kind of leafy plant with heart-shaped leaves!

For pizzazz, I dug out some gold sequins and clustered them in the center of the plant rather than placing them around on the card. I liked that look. The greeting is stamped in Old Olive ink from the Heartfelt Stamp Set. This stamp set can also be used for more than Valentine’s Day so you might want to grab it during Sale-A-Bration.

You probably can’t go out to the “pubs” today to celebrate, but if you are staying home you can celebrate by stamping or creating a St. Patrick’s Day project like this St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Perennial Essence Thinking of You Easy Card

Perennial Essence Thinking of You Easy Card

This Perennial Essence Thinking of You Easy Card is really easy and the paper makes it beautiful! This Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is printed with hand-painted impressionistic images so it is really pretty and very special. The colors are very rich and you will love it! The paper even looks like it was painted on canvas!

This card base is Gorgeous Grape Cardstock, not one of the coordinating colors but I thought it looked nice with the paper anyway! I put a layer of Whisper White underneath the designer paper just to help set it off a little. The greeting is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. I stamped it on Whisper White with Gorgeous Grape Ink. Then it was die cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. The ribbon is the pretty Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. I love this ribbon.

I think any card or project you would make with this designer paper would be beautiful! You can even frame a piece of the paper it is so pretty on its own.

Here is another card using this Perennial Essence Paper. It’s so easy to make a pretty card. All you have to do is change the greeting for another occasion.

When you need a card in a hurry, just think of this simple design. Layer the designer paper on the card base or even just a strip of it. Stamp a greeting and perhaps add some ribbon. Maybe you can even add another little embellishment to the greeting or somewhere on the card. Don’t overdo it, though!

Since this Gorgeous Grape Cardstock is dark, adhere a Whisper White layer inside the card so you can stamp or write a greeting inside. I stamped a couple of flowers from the Floral Essence Stamp Set just in the corner of the Whisper White layer.

Just experiment with the new papers in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! You don’t even have to know what you are going to make, just look through the papers and be inspired! Floral Essence Note Cards

Floral Essence Note Cards

One thing you might overlook in the Stampin’ Up! catalog is the Note Cards & Envelopes on page 168 so I thought I would showcase them by making these Floral Essence Note Cards. These note cards are handy to have on hand for just doing some quick stamping and writing a short note to someone. They are a mailable size so that is not a problem!

I wanted to try out the flowers from the Floral Essence Stamp Set. I stamped the larger flower in Flirty Flamingo Ink first down in the lower right-hand corner on the bottom card and then the smaller flower in the upper left. I wanted to keep these note cards very simple. I took a chance stamping the leaves in Granny Apple Green, not sure how they would look or fit on a small card. I almost left the leaves just with the outline stamped, but then I used my Blender Pen and the lid of the ink pad to very lightly color in the leaves. The flower center is stamped with Crushed Curry. Not leaving well enough alone, I used the tip of the Blender Pen to just dot some green around the flower centers. The greeting comes in the stamp set.

For the second card, I ended up stamping the flower three times across the front of the notecard. Everything was the same as the other card except I wanted to use just a strip of designer paper on the card. The one from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper that looked the best was this strip of green, kind of looking like a vine, that I cut rather narrow and just glued to the bottom of the notecard. I thought I would leave the card plain and not put a greeting. This way the notecard can be used any way you like!

The Note Cards & Envelopes are rather inexpensive and come in Whisper White and Very Vanilla for you to choose which color you prefer or use the most. You could cut and make a small card around the same size out of cardstock, but these come with the envelope that is just the right size. These are very handy to have around!

Easy Floral Thank You Card

Easy Floral Essence Thank You Card

This Easy Floral Thank You Card is made, I think, with one of the most beautiful papers Stampin’ Up! has ever had. The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper has such pretty prints on every sheet. These papers were designed from handpainted impressionistic images. There will be thousands and thousands of beautiful cards and projects made with this paper!

To make this card I simply choose one of the papers and then chose Petal Pink for the card base. I considered using a purple color as another layer, but for today I liked just the pink card base.

The ribbon around the designer paper is the beautiful Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon. This ribbon is currently on backorder but you can put it on your order anyway and they will mail it separately when it comes in. Or wait and put it on your order as soon as you see it is available. It really is so pretty you will want it in your stash! And with paper this pretty, the sheer ribbon just adds to the design, doesn’t cover up anything.

For the greeting, I got lucky and this Petal Pink circle, die cut from the Stitched Labels Dies, was already cut out and in the bag with the full sheets of cardstock so I thought I would try and use it. It was a good size for this card because I didn’t want much of the paper covered up. Then I stamped a greeting from the Free As a Bird Stamp Set. I needed one that would fit on a fairly small piece. This small circle was die cut with the second smallest circle in the Layering Circles Dies.

And since I usually can’t leave well enough alone, I added some Rhinestone Jewels to the greeting. I wanted them to be pink, though, and I knew I could color the plain rhinestones with Stampin’ Blends markers. The same pink really didn’t show up so I tried Flirty Flamingo. On the rhinestones, it give a pinkish color to them so it was perfect.

As a note, due to the new Big Shot and die situation changing, we don’t use the terms “framelits” and “thinlits” any more, which is fine with me! It is much easier to say “dies”. And since the Big Shot has retired, while we wait for a new machine, we will just refer to any “die-cutting machine” until we get our new one. Stampin’ Up! is working on it and from past experience, they will wait until they have a really good one before putting it on the market.

If you want to hoard your beautiful Perennial Essence Paper, look at THIS CARD and see how you can use just a strip of it to make a lovely card.

After you order this paper, you will be inspired to make lots of cards like my Easy Floral Thank You Card for many different occasions!

Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card

Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card

This Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper will be in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog on June 4th and it is gorgeous! The patterns are handpainted images made into this lovely paper! I don’t know if we have ever had anything quite like this designer paper before at Stampin’ Up!

This card is an easy design using just a strip of the designer paper, coordinating cardstock colors, a greeting from the Floral Essence Stamp Set and this new beautiful ribbon, 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon.

The card base is Blackberry Bliss. I originally thought I was going to use Petal Pink and I had trimmed off this little strip of paper. When I changed to the Blackberry Bliss, I decided to just use that strip of pink next to the designer paper. I adhered a strip of the ribbon around the designer paper and tied on a bow. This ribbon is so pretty, but it also allows the designer paper to show through a bit.

The greeting is from the coordinating stamp set, Floral Essence. This stamp set has flowers and sentiments and also a coordinating punch, the Perennial Flower Punch. It fits one of the 3-petal stamp images so you can stamp and punch a couple and make a layered flower!

The greeting is die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered on a Layering Circles Petal Pink scalloped circle.

This is a very simple card. You could do some watermark-type stamping on the Blackberry Bliss with the flower stamps if you wanted to add more. You could add some rhinestones or little embellishments on the greeting or even a few scatted on the card base instead of the stamping. You can almost always make a card very simple or jazz it up in several ways.

Try this Perennial Essence Simple All-Occasion Card when you get the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper or make some simple cards with whatever paper you have now.
