Hues of Happiness Easy Birthday Card

Hues of Happiness Easy Birthday Card

I saw someone somewhere make a card like this Hues of Happiness Easy Birthday Card but with a different paper and greeting, I think. Of course I couldn’t find it again to see who made it but it’s an easy design and one you might see anywhere. The main thing is it is so quick and easy to make! Just change the paper and greeting for any occasion and you have a nice-looking card with just a slight twist to catch the recipient’s eye with the diagonal greeting!

To make this card, stamp a greeting on a strip of cardstock that is longer than the greeting. Choose a designer paper you want to use or stamp a background, whatever you like. Adhere the greeting strip across the corner of the card with the ends extending beyond the designer paper edge. Turn the paper over and trim off the extended greeting strip. Then you have a perfect fit!

Hues of Happiness Easy Birthday Card Assembly

This card uses a card base of Melon Mambo cardstock. The designer paper is one of the gorgeous patterns in the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. After adhering the greeting to the designer paper, trimming off the ends, adhere to the card base. That’s it!

The greeting I used is in the Celebrating You Stamp Set. This is a great stamp set to go back to again and again when you are looking for a sentiment to use. There are a variety of fonts and useful, traditional greetings that you need all the time.

If you want to embellish the card a little bit, add some bling with some Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels or other jewels or gems. You could also add a small bow to the greeting if you had space. The idea is to make a quick and simple card, but a little embellishment and sparkle doesn’t hurt!

Quick and Easy Valentine Card

Quick and Easy Valentine Card

Yes, I know Valentine’s Day is over, but who knows, maybe you need one more valentine for someone today! I didn’t get around to posting this one and it’s one I like because it is a quick and easy valentine! And who doesn’t like quick and easy!

Even if you don’t need another valentine, think of the basic design of this card and think about how you could easily change it into a card for any other occasion.

This valentine has a card base of Real Red (of course!) with a layer of the From My Heart Designer Series Paper. I thought this particular pattern looked really cute on this card! For the focal point, I just have two hearts. The frilly background heart is die-cut with the Be Mine Stitched Dies in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The heart on the front is stamped on Whisper White with a stamp in the Heartfelt Stamp Set in Real Red Ink. Then it is punched out with the scallop-edge heart punch in the Heart Punch Pack.

Just for a little something-something, before I adhered the hearts, I used a little Snail Adhesive to hold down a strip of Real Red 3/8″ Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon, just in the center. You can either pop up the hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals or adhere the hearts flat on the card.

Now if you don’t need a valentine today, all you need to do is change out the hearts to some other focal point whether it be an image or a greeting. You can still use designer paper as a layer and you can still add a strip of ribbon behind the center image. Just keep it simple, whatever you make!

Happy Day-After Valentine’s Day!

Happiness Blooms Easy Card

Happiness Blooms Easy Card

How about this Happiness Blooms Easy Card for something quick and easy to make? You can adapt it to any occasion with the paper and the greeting. You can even embellish it a little more if you like, but for today I was looking for simple!

The card base is Call Me Clover Cardstock, not a color I use very often, but it goes with this paper. My real idea was to use this Happiness Blooms Designer Paper and when I looked at the patterns, this one with the flowers looked so pretty for a spring day. So once you have the card base and layer, all you really need is a greeting!

For the greeting, I chose something a little bit large, not too large, and this one from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set seemed just right. I just stamped it in Calypso Coral Ink and then took it over to my Big Shot to find a die with which to cut it out. Since my dies are spread all over the place in hopes of some organization on magnetic cards, the one that jumped out at me was this rectangle with the diagonal corners from the Frosted Floral Dies (no longer available! I guess they were from the Holiday Catalog! Sorry!). Of course, you could use almost any die or simply cut the stamped greeting into a rectangle. Then just cut a larger one, like I did, for a layer. Since my greeting had those diagonal corners, I simply snipped off the corners of the rectangle layer and it was perfect.

For an easy finishing touch, I added just a bit of the Calypso Coral 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon to the backside of the greeting and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love the Happiness Blooms Designer Paper, even the bold patterns which I might not always care for. This card is certainly a quick and easy one you can make with any designer paper or even a stamped layer of cardstock! Sometimes simple is best!
