Simply Zinnia Diecut Thank You Card

Simply Zinnia Diecut Thank You Card

Sometimes when stamping and die-cutting pieces to make a card, I might die-cut extras because I’m not exactly sure what I will use or because I don’t use all that I thought I needed. These extra pieces continue to end up in a little pile on my table until I maybe sort them out or at least move them to another container. They might even need to be dusted by then! Yesterday some of these ready-to-go pieces were turned into this Simply Zinnia Diecut Thank You Card. It’s almost like having your own package of miscellaneous ephemera to choose from!

This card base is Melon Mambo cardstock and layered with an embossed piece of Basic White using the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. I had a smaller Deckled Circle diecut in Melon Mambo in my little pile, but I needed a larger one so this one on the card is new. The zinnias were already stamped from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and colored in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. During the Bundle Sale for a couple more days, you can get the Simply Zinnia Bundle at a discount until Sunday, June 30th. I just added some of the extra leaf die-cuts that were in my pile of extras around the sides of my zinnias for some greenery even though they aren’t zinnia leaves! The dark green leaves on the right are from the Citrus Blooms Dies, the long light green leaves on each side are from the Painted Lavender Dies, and the other may be from a retired set.

The greeting is new and stamped in Melon Mambo ink from the Simply Said Stamp Set. It is die cut with an angled die in the Something Fancy Dies. The zinnias and the greeting are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I didn’t add any embellishments but some sparkly gems like the Iridescent Foil Gems would be very pretty on this card.

Remember, the Stampin’ Up! Bundle Sale comes to an end on Sunday, June 30th! If you want to save a little money on Bundles consisting of stamp set and dies, this is the time to order. Or if you don’t have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine or would like one of the Mini ones (White or Boho Blue) you can save 10% on one of the machines.

Next time you are stamping or diecutting, make a few extra pieces to have on hand in case you need a little extra something making a card or project or if you just want to have fun designing a card with the scraps and “homemade ephemera” you have on hand!

Real Red Simply Zinnia Card

Real Red Simple Zinnia Card

It’s hard to pass up a chance to stamp and color these pretty zinnias so here is the Real Red Simply Zinnia Card! This time I went for some bold zinnias colored in with Real Red to stand out a little bit from the Melon Mambo designer paper in the background.

I stamped the zinnia bunch from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set in Memento Ink. I reinked the ink pad, but it didn’t need it because I had a lot of extra ink on my stamp until I finally dabbed off the excess ink from the ink pad with a paper towel! After stamping I colored in the flowers and stems with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. You can use other means of coloring but using the Stampin’ Blends is my favorite way. I used the Real Red Combo for the flowers with some Daffodil Delight in the center. The stems and leaves are a little bit of Old Olive, some Lemon Lime Twist, and a little bit of yellow.

The flowers are diecut with the Simply Zinnia Dies. (As I write this, the dies are not available but should be back in stock in two weeks. Check back earlier and keep your fingers crossed!) If you are interested in the Bundle, the stamp set and dies, you can save an extra 10% during the Stampin’ Up! Bundle Sale during June.

The card base is Old Olive cardstock. I wanted to use the Melon Mambo background paper from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper. To help it stand out a little better and with the white background from the Simply Zinnia diecut, I added a layer of Basic White with just a narrow margin. I also got the idea to add a piece of Old Olive diagonally striped pattern in the DSP at the bottom. It helps to ground the flowers and just makes the background a little more interesting. The flowers are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set. I just stamped it on a thin scrap strip of Basic White cardstock which just fit across the width of the card. I like the sentiment. It is stamped in Melon Mambo ink. Since the flowers are popped up on Dimensionals I added Dimensionals to each end of the greeting to go over the flower stems. I also added three Iridescent Foil Gems on the card front.

Here is another card I made with the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and the unusual Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder.

Simply Zinnia Thinking of You Card

Simply Zinnia Thinking of You Card

A new very pretty Suite to create with is the Flowering Zinnias Suite which you will find in the Online Exclusives in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store. These Online Exclusives products are not in any catalog but you will find them online. Some may be reordered when they sell out and some may not so grab the ones you like best when they come out!

This Simply Zinnias Thinking of You Card card was made with the Simply Zinnia Bundle and the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper. That paper has some of the brightest and strongest colors and many flowers. However, I used “the other side” of one of the papers for this card since I wanted more of a generic background for my flowers.

The flowers are stamped from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set in Memento Ink and then colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I used all different colors so choose whatever combinations you like! You can even use different colors, not just the Light and Dark colors in the combo. After coloring them, I cut them out with the die in the Simply Zinnia Dies.

The card base is Basic White with a layer of the Flowering Zinnias DSP in a striped pattern. The flowers are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Melon Mambo from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set. I found this skinny die in the Sending Dies Set which fit perfectly! It is popped up with Mini Dimensionals going across the flower stems.

For a little embellishment, I added three Iridescent Foil Gems on the background. Currently, the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and the coordinating Sequins in the Suite are unavailable. The stamp set, though is due back in stock the week of March 25, but check back early. Sometimes products show up sooner than expected.
