Last Day For the Stampin’ Up! 2021-22 Catalog! New One Tomorrow!

Artistically Inked Birthday Card

I had to celebrate the last day of the current Stampin’ Up! 2021-22 Annual Catalog with a post of two cards using my favorite paper Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper, that had been in the catalog and featured on the cover. I think the paper is sold out and no longer available although you can still purchase the Artistically Inked Bundle of stamp set and dies.

For this card, I used scraps of the paper, mostly the non-floral pieces with the gold foil accents, although one has the beautiful flowers and gold. I didn’t know how it would look until I played around with it. The card base is Evening Evergreen Cardstock with a layer of Gold Foil. The strips are 3 3/4″ long and 1 1/4″ wide. The greeting is in the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, stamped in Polished Pink ink and layered on an Ornate Frames Die in Gold Foil with a Basic White die that fits inside. These dies are also retiring and are discounted! I added a Polished Pink bow for a little accent.

Artistically Inked Best Wishes Card

This card happened just because I saw this scrap of paper with the Polished Pink and Gold Foil marbling with a space in the middle. I knew it could just be a simple card and adhered the designer paper to the Polished Pink cardstock right away. I knew I would add a greeting in that empty space. As I played around, using the Tasteful Labels Dies for the greeting and the Gold Foil layer, I ended up adding more. I stamped and cut out some flowers and leaves using the Artistically Ink Stamp Set, cut out some gold foil accent centers from other flowers, and adhered them to the card. I also used the Artistic Dies to cut out some Gold Foil leaves. And I added some Champagne Rhinestones for a little more bling.

So I think that wraps up my posts on retiring products from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog! Seems like only yesterday IT was the new catalog! Time flies when you’re having fun stamping!

Tomorrow it is on to the new Stampin’ Up! 2022-23 Annual Catalog! New products will be available at 3:00 AM Mountain Time! Remember, all day may be glitches with a high volume of orders, but hopefully, all will work okay! It’s all certainly better than years ago! Tomorrow you will be able to view the new catalog online!

In Colors Modern Heart Card

In Colors Modern Heart Card

Sometimes I saw “Know when to stop!” but for this In Colors Modern Heart Card I said to myself “Keep going!” My brilliant idea in my head was to play with the new In Colors that just came out in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I had purchased the package of markers since the Purple Posy Ink is still unavailable. What I thought I would do was scribble each marker on an acrylic block and then stamp that on paper. As it turned out, I got the idea to use the Modern Heart Stamp Set and it has a squiggle stamp in it that served that purpose rather than the block.

I started by coloring on the squiggle stamp with each In Color and then stamping it on the Thick Whisper White Cardstock, since I was only going to use this for the card with no layers or anything else. Then I stamped the Modern Heart in Memento Black Ink over the stamped squiggle. Next I stamped the greeting from the same set, but it was all too blah. I stamped the smaller modern hearts 3 times in each In Color around the card, but I still didn’t like it. Then I stamped the teeny tiny heart in each color just once. Somehow just that teeny heart I thought made it look better. But still…..

I gave in and chopped the card front off and added In Color cardstock layers and card base and just used the stamped Whisper White piece as the top layer. That was better. When I looked in my drawer for some other embellishment I found these little epoxy gold hearts (retired from last year) and added three of those. Not sure I should have added those, but altogether, I was happier with this card.

Actually, I think part of the problem is maybe I’m not too fond of this years In Colors, but neither have I played with them much. Sometimes that’s what you need to do to like something! So as I said, usually I think don’t overdo things on a card, know when to stop. But in this case, continuing to add some things I think made it better. Not my best or my favorite, but stamped, nonetheless! Nice to just do stamping sometimes!

Share What You Love Love What You Do Card

Share What You Love Love What You Do Card

I thought this Share What You Love Love What You Do card was appropriate for the last day of the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! Today, June 3, until 11:50 PM MT is your last chance to order any retiring Last-Chance Products from Stampin’ Up! It’s also the last day for the spring Occasions Catalog. Can you believe it?! As much as I love the holidays, I always find when I use some new products out of the Occasions Catalog when January comes, it feels SO good to make something new and fresh that is not for the holidays. And now that time has flown by!

This card, made with the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and stamped with the Love What You Do Stamp Set greeting I think expresses what probably all of us Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators feel. We love sharing stamping with others and we love what we do in teaching people to stamp and helping them with their projects. It’s just a great stamp set and beautiful paper. I’ve loved all the floral patterns in this set of papers, but I’ve also been drawn to just this simple printed pattern so I chose to use it for this card.

The ribbon is the Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon which goes perfectly with this paper. It is discounted on the Last-Chance List! So is the Share What You Love Paper!

The greeting is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered on a scalloped circle die. I added a few Gold Metallic Pearls on the greeting.

Remember, today is the last day for the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! Page through it at least one more time and check it all out, especially the Last-Chance products. They are best viewed online to see what is still available!

All My Love All-Occasion Card

All My Love All-Occasion Card

Such a decision on what retiring product I wanted to get more use out of and highlight on my blog, but finally I settled on this beautiful designer paper from the Occasions Catalog and made this All My Love All-Occasion Card.

In case you haven’t heard, the current Stampin’ Up! catalog is retiring TOMORROW, as is the Occasions 2019 Catalog, so we only have today and tomorrow to make sure we are not leaving any retiring products that we want on the table to be whisked away with the new catalog! The new Stampin’ Up! Catalog should go live around Noon MT (or 1:00 PM Central Time). You will be able to view the new catalog online at that time as well. Ordering from current products will end at 11:50 PM MT Monday night, June 3rd so that’s your deadline!

Even though this All My Love Designer Series Paper might have seemed to be only for Valentine’s Day, given a few sheets have hearts on them, as you can see from the pattern I selected for this card, it can be used in many ways. I love red, so this Lovely Lipstick Red is right up my alley with the red flowers. The leaves are a Soft Sea Foam green, so I used that color cardstock for my layer and found I liked it so much with this paper that I made another card, too, with that color! The little flowers are Balmy Blue so that was another possible choice.

This is a simple card design, just using a card base of Lovely Lipstick (an In Color for one more year) and the Soft Sea Foam layer, then the designer paper. Here is a tip: If you don’t own a coordinating ribbon color, just use a narrow strip of cardstock to appear to be ribbon as I did on this card. I really wasn’t even thinking about it, it was just a scrap I had trimmed off the paper and I saw it laying there!

The greeting is from the coordinating stamp set, also in the Occasions Catalog, Forever Lovely. I stamped it in Lovely Lipstick ink and die cut with the Stitched Shapes dies, then layered it on a die-cut scalloped oval piece of Lovely Lipstick. I cut out some flowers from the paper to add around the greeting, plus had to add a few Rhinestone Jewels! Just because!

This card turned out very pretty. The flowers almost look like they are gold embossed but it is really a Crumb Cake outline. I also brushed some Clear Wink of Stella over the popped up flowers around the greeting. You might be able to tell in the photo that there is a little glimmer on them. Love that stuff!

Be sure to check the Last-Chance products another time today and tomorrow and get your final order in for this current catalog. It seems like it just came out, time goes by so fast, but it’s so exciting to have a new Stampin’ Up! catalog! Don’t forget to check the Discounted Last-Chance Products, too!

Stampin’ Up! Last-Chance! Just 3 Days Left!

DISCOUNTED Last-Chance Products!!

Today is June 1st, which in Houston, Texas, means it’s the first day of hurricane season and we will be hearing how to prepare, what supplies to have on hand, what to do, where to go, etc. etc. Luckily we probably don’t have to worry too much about hurricanes until about August and September.

I predict these next three days will be like a hurricane – for us, the last days to buy retiring Stampin’ Up! products will go by so fast and we’ll be making sure we have the stamp sets we can’t live without and making sure we get our orders in! For Stampin’ Up!, it will probably be like a hurricane with a deluge of orders coming in at the last minute for retiring products and then on June 4th with a deluge of orders coming in for the new catalog!

The other day Stampin’ Up! discounted select products from the Annual Catalog and the Occasions Catalog. Discounts range from 10% off to 30% off. We all like ANY sale, especially on Stampin’ Up! products, so make sure you check it out. Products are only available while supplies last (of course!).

It’s really best just to look in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store under ‘Last-Chance Products” and then under “Discounted”. You can download the lists I posted a few days ago, but they won’t be up-to-date with what’s still available if anything sold out.

Of course, you can also check the Clearance Rack and any other products you want to order, retiring or not.

All orders must be in by Monday, June 3 at 11:50 pm MT!

Have fun shopping!

De-Stress on Tax Day With the Stampin’ Up! Retirement List!

Retirement 2019

Today is Tax Day so I hope you got yours done and sent off to the IRS so this afternoon you can de-stress and relax with the Stampin’ Up! Retirement List later this afternoon at 1:00 PM (MT) when it comes out! You can mark off in the catalog what is going away and decide which Stampin’ Up! products you can’t live without.

Over the weekend the Stampin’ Up! event called OnStage was held in Auckland, New Zealand with local events of one day held in scattered cities around the world. Demonstrators received the next new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, so you can look online and probably find a picture of the cover! They were also allowed to show photos of some of the new stamp sets, paper, and In Colors coming and the prizes and gifts they received. Any Stampin’ Up! event is a fun thing to attend, I can tell you for sure!

Just be thinking ahead if there are things you fear could sell out when the Retirement List comes out today so you are ready to POUNCE! Who knows, of course, but sometimes the In Color refills and cardstock that are going out are the first things to go. Any accessories with those colors are also susceptible! There are new In Colors coming!

The Retiring List is supposed to be released at 1 PM (Mountain Time) (2:00 pm Central) today so give me some time to check it out and get it posted and then come back to my blog and/or Facebook to find out all about it! Get your work done early so you can de-stress with the Retirement List!

New Major Stampin’ Up! Products Coming!

Breaking News

Big News From Stampin’ Up!

Yesterday we were surprised to hear some big news from Stampin’ Up! about new products that will be coming in the future. If you are on my Mailing List, you got this information yesterday afternoon in my newsletter.

Stampin’ Trimmer Being Replaced

Stampin’ Up! is retiring the Stampin’ Trimmer and all its accessories on June 3rd while they search for a suitable replacement, due to supplier issues. This will leave a gap in time until a new paper cutter is released, which will not particularly affect those of us who already own the trimmer or another paper trimmer. If you are new to stamping or have always wanted this trimmer, NOW is the time to purchase this one. However, if you want to see what new product comes out, then wait and see.

How this affects my customers is that replacement Cutting Blades could be an issue. Stampin’ Up! has increased their inventory and will continue ordering until September. When the retirement list comes out April 15, the Cutting Blades limit will be increased from 3 to 6. Even with increased inventory, these could go on backorder. So….if you need Cutting Blades to last until we get a new trimmer (if you decide to purchase a new one at that time), or RIGHT NOW, then I would order Cutting Blades ASAP and maybe as available throughout the retirement period. In other words, get what you need while you can! (At this moment it looks like the Cutting Mats and Scoring Blades are not available.)

Big Shot Being Replaced

Big Shot Machine

The Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine will be retired as Stampin’ Up! wants to work directly with a manufacturer to better meet our needs and designs after extensive research and evaluation including Demonstrator feedback. This should lead to a better product in the future, but in the meantime, we can still use the Big Shots that we own and even the new dies coming in the new catalog will still work in the Big Shot and any die-cutting machine you may own or purchase. It’s possible, due to machine differences, that maybe something like a shim may be needed with dies. Also, the “fancy” language of Framelits, Thinlits, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, etc. will be simplified to just “dies” and “embossing folders”.

How this affects my customers is that you can continue to use your Big Shot as long as you like, until a new die-cutting machine comes out and you have the opportunity to choose to purchase or not. There will be new dies in the new catalog, made in a slightly better design. Perhaps we will need to add a shim or finagle something but we will figure it out together! The new die design seems like it will cut closer which will be great! New dies will be the new design. Old dies will continue to be sold until the inventory is depleted, then the new design will take over. There could be backorder situations during this transition.

If there are dies that you want now or in the near future, just like with the Trimmer and Blades, I would order what you want as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. No way to tell what could be sold out. (But of course, there are always new things coming that sometimes make us forget the old things!)

If you have always wanted a Big Shot, buy one now so you have it and you can reassess machines when a new one comes out. I love mine and would hate to do without it, but if you already have one, in a way, nothing changes!

There are no time frames given for these new products so there likely will be a long gap in between the retirement and new products announced. Just my guess.

The Retiring List comes out April 15. Anything you REALLY, REALLY want from the outgoing catalog or Occasions Catalog, I would not wait until April 15 when the rush starts. I’m sure we will hear more information as time goes on. Just keep in mind, Stampin’ Up! is always trying to make our stamping and papercrafting experiences and products as positive and high quality as possible so sometimes we have to go through these bumps in the road! But once the new pavement is down, we are usually very happy with the new products they have released! Keep your fingers crossed and enjoy what we do have!

Let me know if you have any questions/comments about these announcements of new Stampin’ Up! products either in an email or leaving a comment on this post!
