Unbounded Beauty Thinking of You Card

Unbounded Beauty Thinking of You Card

This Unbounded Beauty Thinking of You Card is an easy basic design that you can copy easily for almost any kind of card. I wanted to make a simple card and I wanted to use this white ribbon. When I cleaned up my basket of ribbons, dividing up the retired ribbon and the current ribbon, I hated to put all the retired ribbon away. But this white ribbon isn’t retired! You can find it in the Clearance section!

I started with a card base of Petunia Pop, one of the new In Colors, and I was even thinking of adding a Basic White layer underneath the designer paper. But then I decided to try Berry Burst cardstock for the card base which I liked a little better. The layer of designer paper is the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper, a new pack of 12″ x 12″ paper in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. These papers, in my opinion, are prettier in person than in the catalog! I used a full layer of the designer paper, 5 1/4″ x 4″. If you wanted to, you could make the bottom half of the card with the other side or another pattern of the paper.

Before I adhered the designer paper, I adhered the ends of this White 3/4″ Frayed Ribbon to the backside of the designer paper before adhering the paper to the card base. I tied the bow separately and adhered it to the card with several Mini Glue Dots.

The greeting is stamped in Berry Burst ink in the Simply Said Stamp Set. This is a great stamp set for greetings. I used a die in the Unbounded Love Dies to cut out the sentiment and then I chose one of the larger dies for a background layer for the greeting. I popped this up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a couple of 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems to each end of the diecut.

You can make this card design with any designer paper or stamped background. Add some ribbon for embellishment and a greeting and you have a nice card!

Delightful Floral Book Fold Card

This Delightful Floral Book Fold Card is called a book fold card because of the left side fold being glued down instead of the card opening the whole way! Just something different and super simple to make!

For this card, I used a couple of patterns of designer papers in the Delightful Floral 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. You won’t find this paper in either of our catalogs. It is one of the recently released designer papers in the Online Exclusives category in the Online Store. There are many great products in there so don’t forget to check them now and then!

Here is how to make this basic card. Cut the Fresh Freesia cardstock lengthwise in half at 11″ x 4 1/4″. Score at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Fold and crease the score lines. You could put the fold line at the top of the card, but in this case, I have the fold on the left. I applied glue to that narrow section so that the card would open at the next score line.

The designer paper I used on that small section is cut at 1″ x 4″. I chose a leafy patterned paper. For the larger front of the card, I used a piece of floral designer paper cut at 4″ x 4″. This pattern has very small flowers, but other papers have larger flowers and you could use any of those instead. On this card, I punched two holes in the side of the card (the part that is adhered so that the card doesn’t open all the way) and tied a ribbon through. This is the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon in the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack. It’s a perfect match and perfect size. If you are going to tie ribbon through this book fold portion, then you wouldn’t necessarily need to adhere to inside front and back together.

The greeting is stamped in Fresh Freesia ink with words in the Sentimental Park Stamp Set. The greeting is diecut with a square stitched die in the Stylish Shapes Dies. Then the next larger square die is used to cut out a piece of Fresh Freesia for a layer. You could use other die shapes but I thought the square shape worked well with the square area of the card front.

For a little embellishment, I added three Fresh Freesia gems from the Tinsel Gems Three-Pack to the greeting. They add a little sparkle and interest to the card. There are many other gem choices in the Stampin’ Up! embellishments you could choose from! The card is pretty enough without it, but I think it’s fun to use that extra little pop!

Here is another easy card I made with this designer paper.

This Delightful Floral paper is really some lovely paper with its watercolored florals and botanicals. This paper coordinates with the Translucent Florals Bundle in the Holiday Mini Catalog. You will want to check out this paper soon!

Countryside Inn Boho Blue Thinking of You Card

Countryside Inn Boho Blue Thinking of You Card

I hadn’t used this beautiful designer series paper in a while, so I looked through the papers, and out came this Countryside Inn Boho Blue Thinking of You Card. You never know what will happen when you go to make a card.

This card uses two different patterns in the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. I used one for a background layer and the brighter floral for the front of the card. I used Boho Blue cardstock, one of the newest current In Colors 2023-2025 for the card base and the layer under the floral paper and under the greeting.

This card base is cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″ with a fold at the top instead of the side. You can make it however you like. The designer paper directly on the card base is 5 1/4″ x 4″. The floral paper on the front is cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ with the Boho Blue layer underneath cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.

Before adhering the floral layer, tie a piece of ribbon around the designer paper and then adhere a separate bow with a Mini Glue Dot. I used the Night of Navy 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon. I could have used my Boho Blue 3/8″ Textured Ribbon to match the other Boho Blue I used on the card, but I thought the Night of Navy ribbon stood out a little better and matched the Night of Navy flowers on the paper. You could pop up this whole layer if you wanted to. I adhered mine flat on the card front but I considered using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

The greeting is from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set and stamped in Boho Blue ink. I considered several choices for diecutting the greeting but chose the Something Fancy Dies. I could use one cut out in Boho Blue to layer under the Basic White diecut greeting. We don’t always have something to layer underneath a greeting to help it stand out, but with these dies I did! To finish the card, I added two Boho Blue 2023-2025 In Color Dots to the greeting.

You could make this same card using different designer paper so give this Countryside Inn Boho Blue Thinking of You Card a try!

Inked Botanicals Thinking of You Card

Inked Botanicals Thinking of You Card

I only recently purchased this designer paper that I used to make this card, but I really like it and it will be easy to work with! I loved making this Inked Botanicals Thinking of You Card with the pretty patterns and colors of this paper. This Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper was designed by the Stampin’ Up! artists inking up actual flowers and pressing them on paper. Most of us have probably done something like this when we were in elementary school, maybe with colored fall leaves. Clearly, the Stampin’ Up! artists do a much better job with all kinds of flowers and leaves!

This card base is Lost Lagoon, one of the coordinating colors of the paper. I chose a Lost Lagoon patterned paper with whitish flower stems for the layer. It’s pretty and adds texture and interest without being overwhelming.

For the focal point, I just diecut another floral pattern of the paper which had multiple colors of flowers using the Stylish Shapes circle dies plus a larger diecut layer of the Lost Lagoon cardstock. These dies give a nice stitched edge which looks good. On the back, I adhered some Pool Party 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon back and forth and then popped up the circles on Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

The greeting is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Lost Lagoon ink. The greeting is in the Go To Greetings Stamp Set. I diecut the greeting using not the tiniest die, but the next one in size in the Countryside Corners Dies. I like the look of that shape on this card.

For a finishing touch, as I often do, I added some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the flowers in the circle for a little sparkle! On the inside, you can add a layer of Very Vanilla maybe with a strip of the floral pattern I used on the circle at the bottom of the inside layer for a little decoration.

Dragonfly Garden Thinking of You Card

Dragonfly Garden Thinking of You Card

You may think this Dragonfly Garden Thinking of You Card would be difficult to make, coloring those tiny areas, but it is still relatively easy. Since the areas you probably want to color are so small, you can’t really fuss over it very much!

Just to use a color I don’t usually use, I chose Blackberry Bliss for the card base. And because I had thought about using Melon Mambo as the card base I used it as a layer underneath the Whisper White card front.

The reason I used this collection of flowers in the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set was to see what it would be like to color and make into a card. I stamped it with Memento Ink and then colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I used some Daffodil Delight on the top flower, Melon Mambo on the next group of daisies or whatever kind of flower that is! The other flowers I used a purple color. The leaves and stems are colored with Granny Apple Green.

Most of these images are so small and tiny that you can only use the pen tip of the marker, not the brush tip. And even then, you mostly barely dot the color in, not really “color in”.

The greeting is the pretty font from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. If you aren’t sure what you will use a card for that you make, usually the “Thinking of You” sentiment is a versatile one to choose. You may be thinking of that person for many occasions!

The flowers looked a little bare over there by themselves, so to kind of ground them a bit, I colored around them with a Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend marker. I only barely wanted it to be seen. It was nothing artistic, just some scribbling and coloring lightly with the brush tip. Nothing is right or wrong.

Since the cardstock is so dark, I adhered a layer of white cardstock on the inside to stamp or write a message. And for a little decoration, I adhered a strip of Dandy Garden Designer Paper across the bottom.

Basically, this is an easy card to make to send to someone. Just some stamping and a little bit of coloring! And if you don’t want to do the coloring, make a monochromatic card stamping the flowers in a color, and then there is no need to color the design like this card HERE that I previously made.

Fine Art Floral Thinking of You Card

Fine Art Floral Thinking of You Card

I’m finally getting a chance to play with some new things in the upcoming January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, coming January 5th and the result was this Fine Art Floral Thinking of You Card.

As you can imagine, this Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper is gorgeous! When you get your catalog or look at it online next week, look at the back cover because you will see how the artists created the designs for this paper. One side of every sheet is a floral design and the other side is a more generic, plainer watercolor washed design.

And when you look at the back of the designer paper package, you will be amazed at how many coordinating colors go with this paper! I think there were twelve colors plus white. I always write all the colors with a marker on the back cardboard so I can read them easier than trying to squint and read Stampin’ Up!’s tiny print!

The card base is Flirty Flamingo. I cut a strip of the designer paper thinking I would put it on the side of the card, but as I turned over the floral side, I really liked the other side, too, and ended up with this design I adhered two strips of the “other side” to the sides of the card but leaving 1/4″ of Flirty Flamingo showing, and then adhered the floral side over the top and down the middle. That panel is 2 1/4″ wide. Not what I had planned at all, but it’s what it turned out to be!

For the greeting, I sort of copied a sample in the catalog. I die-cut only the word “just” from a die in the Floral Gallery Dies. The die says “just want to say” but I just laid the Merry Merlot Cardstock over the word “just” and die cut that. Don’t forget to save the dot over the J!

I die cut the label for the greeting from the Tasteful Labels Dies in the Annual Catalog. Then I stamped the “thinking of you” in the new Art Gallery Stamp Set on the label in Merry Merlot ink but did not ink up the “I’m”. I got lucky and did not mess it up! Then the die-cut word “just” is adhered to the label also. I popped this greeting up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can purchase the Art Gallery Stamp Set and the Floral Gallery Dies in the Art Gallery Bundle and save 10%.

I thought I was finished and was ready to photograph the card but I thought it still needed “something”. Of course that something was a little bling from the Champagne Rhinestone Jewels.

Once I had the design figured out, it was a pretty easy card to make. This is a beautiful suite that you will be attracted to when you see the new catalog!

The new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog starts Tuesday, January 5th….next week!! That will also be the first day of the biggest promotion of the year, Sale-A-Bration! What a week to look forward to!

Easy Stamped Painted Poppies Thinking of You Card

Easy Stamped Painted Poppies Thinking of You Card

This was one of those times that I absolutely didn’t know what to make for a card so finally I remembered my own advice when you need inspiration and looked in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog! I found cards somewhat like this Easy Stamped Painted Poppies Thinking of You Card that I eventually came up with, keeping it simple and just stamping! The catalog sample cards had other cardstock on the side and a fancier greeting, but once I got going on this card I was happy with it!

I decided to make my poppies Calypso Coral so I chose Calypso Coral Cardstock for the card base. I thought about adding a layer of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock to match the leaves, but I didn’t.

I used the “blob” stamp in the Painted Poppies Stamp Set to stamp the color for all the flowers. I inked up the stamp with Calypso Coral, then stamped it lightly on scrap paper to take off some of the ink so the stamped image would be lighter. Then I stamped over these color “blobs” with the two different outline poppy stamps in black. As you can see, this method and the shapes of the stamps makes it imperfect. But that’s okay! The flowers look artsy! I even fit in an extra poppy that is not exactly over the color and it all still looks okay!

Then I did the same thing with leaves. You can do it either way. I stamped the leaf outline in black and then stamped over that with Pear Pizzazz ink with the kind of dotty image in the stamp set. Again, it all doesn’t match up perfectly but that’s how it is supposed to be. If you want the perfect look then you would stamp the outline image and then color in.

The greeting is from the Many Mates Stamp Set. This is a great new stamp set with common messages you will want to use in different fonts and designs. Some of the sentiments will be good for using inside the card or as kind of a sub-greeting on the front of the card. I think this will be a favorite stamp set for greetings.

This card is “just stamping” which is nice to do sometimes! No die-cutting, no embossing, no embellishments. Those are all good things but when you are just starting up and you only have limited supplies, it’s good to know you can make pretty cards with just stamps, ink, and paper like this Easy Stamped Painted Poppies Thinking of You Card.

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card

Originally I intended to exactly copy a very bright and “happy” card I saw on Instagram by someone whose cards I always like, @leannecreates, but as so often happens, after I got started the design changed and I ended up with this Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card.

The Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper has so many pretty floral patterns in it, some very bright like this one I used on this card. I used Whisper White Cardstock for the card base with a layer of Daffodil Delight Cardstock for a layer under the designer paper. After I got to this point, I noticed an already punched tag in my bag of cardstock, so I decided to see if I could use that.

The tag was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I added a Whisper White layer stamped with a greeting from the Many Mates Stamp Set, a great set of greetings in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. To help the tag stand out a little bit better, I used the green side of a scrap of the same floral designer paper to go underneath the tag. It helps the tag stand out against the floral background and it adds a little more interest to the whole card.

To decorate the tag I cut out some flowers from the same designer paper, the scraps from the layer on the card, using my Paper Snips. It’s pretty easy and you don’t have to be perfect in cutting out a few flowers. For a finishing touch I added a bow tied with the Magenta Madness 1/4″ In Color Ribbon. Since I was putting the bow right over the opening at the top of the tag, I stuck a Stampin’ Dimensional underneath that opening since the whole tag was popped up on Dimensionals. That gave a good sticky area on which to adhere the bow!

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card Closeup

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of the designer paper along the left side, it didn’t even reach the full length but added a little bit of design inside the card. I could have also stamped a flower inside.

Be sure to check out the Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper in the new catalog when you get ready to order. It’s the 6″ x 6″ size which is easy to work with. Even if you find some of the colors or patterns pretty bright, you can tone them down with the other colors that you use with those. But these are really pretty papers and flowers can be used for so many kinds of cards! Here is another card I made recently with a pattern of designer paper that I wasn’t all that thrilled with, but once I used it, especially using a smaller piece of the paper, I really loved the card!

You will be able to make tons of pretty cards similar to my Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card with this pretty designer series paper!
